Every now again in the world of online bingo, something comes along that’s a breath of fresh air, and so it is with Matchbingo.  It’s a regulated, real money football bingo app which you can play in real time as you watch a match or matches, and there’s also games you can play when there’s no live football on.

Getting Started at Matchbingo

Once you’ve done that, start up the app and fill in the registration form.

• You’ll need to give them your email address, date of birth (chosen from sliders) and opt into marketing preferences.
• Next enter your phone number (which they say is used for support purposes only) and postcode, and confirm your address from the list.
• Finally put in your first and last name (they say “we don’t need any middle names”) and choose a username (which should not be your email address) and a password.  The user name will be displayed on the winners board and in app notifications when you win a prize; they also mention chat with other players but this is not yet available (they hope to add it later).

You will immediately be taken to a deposit screen with preset amounts  of £10, £25 and £50 and the option at the bottom of the screen to enter a different amount.  Once you’ve made your deposit, you’ll see a banner with the welcome bonus – touch to claim.  You may need to restart the app to see the funds.

Matchbingo – How To Play

In the Matchbingo app, the games appear under various tabs – Football, Bingoals, Now, Quick, Big, Darts and Cricket.  But what does it all mean?

Football

Here, you can buy bingo cards for upcoming football matches. They cost £2 each or 5 for £8, and you can buy up to 10 cards per game.

At the time of writing in June 2025 the available matches were from the FIFA Club World Cup 2025, the Women’s Euros 2025 and Major League Soccer.  Once the main football season gets going again you can expect to see Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup and many more.

You can view today’s matches and/or tomorrow’s matches separately or see everything that’s available for prebuy.  Each match is tagged with the league or tournament it’s from, the date and kick off time and the teams that are playing, if known.  If the teams are not yet known because it depends on the results of a match that’s yet to happen, a purple football is shown instead of the team’s insignia and so, for example, bingo cards for the final of a tournament can go on sale before the semis have been played.

Each football bingo card is a 3×5 grid (a bit like a 90 ball bingo card) marked with symbols for things that might happen in the match.  You can touch each symbol to get an explanation of what it means. The symbols in columns 1 and 2 must happen to the team on the left and the symbols in columns 4 and 5 must happen to the team on the right.  The symbols in column 3 can happen to either team.  As the game plays in real time, the events appear on the line above the card and can also be viewed separately and when an event that’s on your card happens, the corresponding symbol turns purple.

There are prizes for the first player (or players) to complete one line, the first player (or players) to complete two lines and the first to complete full house (but in most games, only one or two lines will end up being completed).

The app will notify you shortly before the match starts and will also notify you of line wins.

Bingoals

Bingoals is a different type of football bingo which runs every Saturday at 3pm during the domestic football season.

You get a card with 15 teams randomly selected from everyone that’s playing that day in the Premiership, Championship and Leagues 1 and 2.  When a team scores, it gets marked off on your bingo card – it really is that simple.

Again, tickets are £2 each or 5 for £8 and you’ll get an app notification when the game is about to start and for line wins.

Now

Fancy playing Bingoals without having to wait for the new season, or at some time other than 3pm on a Saturday?  Matchbingo Now runs every 5 minutes: it’s a speed version of the Bingoals game using canned information, with 15 teams randomly selected from simultaneous kick offs on a random match day from the 2023-2024 season.

Quick

Matchbingo Quick gives you football bingo cards for a random Premier League match from the 2023-2024 season on a super fast canned replay.  A game starts every 10 minutes.

Big

Matchbingo Big is a weekly football bingo game with a bigger than usual prize pool, scheduled ahead of time – usually speed reruns of finals.

Darts

This is similar to the live football bingo game, but for live darts.  The items on the card are all to do with the players in the darts match visiting various total scores and as with the football cards, there are two columns for each player and one for both players.

Cricket

Similar to the live football bingo game but for live cricket.  The 15 items on the cricket card can all apply to both teams in the match.

Other Things To Consider

Matchbingo have enabled a few extras including a monthly leaderboard with prizes for the players who win the most during the month. Apart from that and the welcome offfer there’s little by way of promotions – but then, the football matches themselves change from day to day for added entertainment value.

If you have a favourite team in the Premier League, you can set them up as MyTeam and be notified whenever they are playing.  You can also set up an auto purchase of up to 5 cards for each game they play.

Deposits have to be made with a debit card – there’s no choice of payment methods.

Nor is there any other choice of games apart from the various bingo games; if you’re looking for slot and/or instant win games, Matchbingo is very definitely not the place.

Final Thoughts

Matchbingo is an innovative and fun product that really comes into its own when there’s live sport on and you can watch on a big screen at the same time as playing on your phone.  Now and Quick are pleasant enough diversions for when there’s nothing live.  If you are interested in football or in bingo, this site is well worth a look, and if you’re interested in both it will be right up your street!
