Gala Bingo

After years as a Virtue Fusion bingo site, Gala Bingo moved on to Entain’s own bingo platform in July 2022.

The same week as the move, Entain launched their own 75 and 90 ball versions of the classic Deal or No Deal Bingo game which is one of the most popular of the Virtue Fusion specials. This means that the only bingo games that weren’t recreated on the new software were Rainbow Riches Bingo and Housey.

The Gala player base is absolutely huge and they have successfully retained enough liquidity to keep the rooms busy and lively and prize money attractive even without the Virtue Fusion network big money games and promotions and despite a few players ragequitting (some people just don’t like change).  The success of the Coral Bingo move 18 months earlier also contributed a substantial player base to the Entain bingo product. And also let’s face it, the Virtue Fusion incarnation of Gala was SO busy that wins were a bit too few and far between (although substantial when they did come), so losing the rest of the Virtue Fusion network was arguably no bad thing.  The Entain version combines Gala only rooms such as Main Event session bingo and All Sorts with Entain networked rooms such as Castle and Rush which have hundreds of players at most rather than the thousands of Virtue Fusion.  The Entain versions of Gala exclusive games, Coronation Street Bingo, TV Specials and the 50 ball special Bingo Beats, have been made available at other Entain sites to keep player numbers and prize value up.  There’s also Entain’s latest bingo game Slingo Bingo, plenty of free bingo and penny bingo every day, a huge £150K bingo game every month and a live show every evening – everything a bingo lover could possibly want!

Gala’s mobile service has won awards and comes with apps to make login hassle free.  The app was updated the day of the move but one problem that was remarked upon by players is that slot games were not accessible from the mobile bingo rooms.  This has now been fixed with the latest bingo lobby update which adds a number of other enhancements including improved chat and status report on how many other players are 1TG or 2TG.

Gala have long had a reputation for looking after their customers.  They regularly run player promotions and some of these have been in aid of charities.  One thing that Gala have been really good at historically is thinking up promotions which offer prizes that money can’t buy – from tickets to the Gala VIP Christmas party to a guest appearance on Emmerdale for the winner’s pet.  Although these days the prizes are mostly cash, free spins and free bingo tickets, they still run some innovative promotions such as “All The Calls” where players had to identify all the bingo calls referenced in the Gala Bingo TV ad.

Gala – and other Entain sites – excel not just at bingo, but in the size and variety of the slot games selection; there’s a massive range of games on offer including many exclusives and huge progressive jackpots.   It seemed possible that following the move, the emphasis at Gala might shift even more towards the excellent slot offering and away from bingo, making the site more suitable for slots players who like a bit of bingo from time to time than for true bingo enthusiasts.  The addition of daily free slots tournaments and the Rolling Pots community slots jackpots certainly gave credence to this theory.  But this hasn’t happened – the Entain bingo product has turned out to be so good that Gala Bingo is a perfect destination for bingo and slots players alike. The latest development (May 2023) is that when you sign up at Gala Bingo you also gain access to Gala Spins and Gala Casino as the three sites now have a single login and wallet; once logged in you can switch between them without logging out.  This means you can only claim one welcome offer across the three sites, so choose wisely.
