The Hippodrome Online Casino is the digital counterpart of London’s world famous Hippodrome Casino and has the USP of “Live Hippodrome Grand Roulette” streamed from the venue.
The Hippodrome Online Casino is managed by iGaming giant Betway. It has a close association with its land based namesake and the Evolution live tables at “London’s Biggest & Best Casino” certainly give the online version that extra something special.
It’s no surprise to find that the Hippodrome Online is very much presented as a casino with slots rather than as a slot site. This means it’s easier to find roulette, blackjack, video poker and other table games in the lobby as they all have their own area. To find slot games to play, you can start by browsing through the New Games or Slots tabs; if you don’t see the game you want there it’s a case of using the search box which, to be fair, is extremely powerful and starts to return results when you’ve entered just one letter or number, refining them as you continue to add more characters.
Don’t expect to find the same range of slot machines online as you would at the bricks and mortar Hippodrome, though. Betway’s close association with Microgaming means that a lot of the 450+ slot games at the Hippodrome Online Casino are either written by Microgaming or distributed by Microgaming. Some other favourites have crept in – Starburst, Bonanza, Fishin’ Frenzy Megaways and various Big Bass games were prominent when we visited and Cleopatra and Rainbow Riches turned up on a search – but you only need look at the progressive jackpots to see how heavily the site leans towards Microgaming. There’s various versions of Mega Moolah and WOWPot! plus a couple of others (but with those two biggies, what else do you need really?)
The promotions page at the Hippodrome Online only had one offer on it when we visited (apart from the welcome offer) but it was a redeposit offer that could be claimed once a day for an entire month so was doing quite a bit of heavy lifting.
The Hippodrome Online doesn’t offer much choice of deposit methods – a couple of e-wallets are accepted but no voucher payment systems and no mobile phone billing – and if you want to claim the welcome offer there is just one deposit method that will do, a Visa Debit Card. On the plus side, they have enabled Visa Direct which means withdrawals are speedy.
Not the widest range of slot games, then, but a well run casino with the backing of a famous brand – and just the thing if you are a fan of Microgaming slots and don’t mind using your debit card for deposits.
