Fantastic Spins is a Dragonfish slot site that slipped away from view a few years ago. Now it’s back, under new ownership and with a fantastic new design!
The old Fantastic Spins website was owned by Mandalay Media who were also the original owners of Costa Bingo and many other bingo and slot sites in a similar vein. This brand new version of Fantastic Spins is owned by Digital Rush Ltd, who also own Bingo Loft. They are a relatively new organisation set up by people with years of experience in the industry.
Like other Dragonfish casinos, Fantastic Spins is a purely slots focused site with no bingo and no other sorts of casino games (apart from Slingo and a few other instant win games).
One of the design quirks of the Dragonfish platform is that the parts of Fantastic Spins that are visible without a login are quite different from the actual lobby. Although there are slot game tiles with “Spin Now” buttons on the home page, they take you to a login or registration screen and not to the actual game, and this means that game tiles on the home page do not necessarily reflect what’s in the lobby. For example, many Dragonfish casinos mention or have tiles for NetEnt slot games on their home page but once you get into the lobby you’ll find there are none as Dragonfish are no longer working with NetEnt.
So, just what is in that lobby? Hundreds of slot games is the answer. And now that the Dragonfish platform is owned by Broadway Gaming, who have a long standing relationship with Microgaming, the selection of slot games is getting more and more Microgaming heavy. If you enjoy Microgaming classics such as Immortal Romance and Thunderstruck II along with more recent releases like 9 Masks of Fire and Fortunium, you’ll love it at Fantastic Spins. The Microgaming influence hasn’t yet extended to the progressive jackpots, which are all by Eyecon – including jackpot versions of the perennially popular Fluffy Favourites and its sequels.
The lobby is organised into tabs which are regularly updated – for example the Spooky Slots tab that was in place for Halloween was replaced with an Xmas tab for festive slot games – but each tab only has about a dozen of so games in it, so if you want to dig deeper in search of new games to play you’ll need to scroll through the Complete List of games or use the search box. For example, the Slingo games don’t have their own lobby tab but if you search for “slingo” you’ll find there are more than 20 of them.
Fantastic Spins has a lobby tab for new releases, but it has to be said that Dragonfish are not the best at adding new games when they come out and some of the games in this part of the lobby are Microgaming back catalogue games which, while they may be new additions at Dragonfish, are definitely not new releases. And popular games like Big Bass Splash often arrive at Dragonfish months late, so if playing the hottest new games the moment they come out is important to you, Fantastic Spins (or any other Dragonfish site) is not going to hit the mark.
There are many other reasons why you might want to play at Fantastic Spins, though. Here’s just a few:
Payment methods, on the other hand, is a slightly weak area at Dragonfish; there aren’t a lot of deposit methods to choose from and withdrawal times are relatively slow.
If you aren’t bothered about the lack of high tech deposit methods and are looking for a fuss free place to play a great selection of slot games on your phone, Fantastic Spins could be just the thing. And fans of the Dragonfish platform will no doubt be delighted to see a new site launched!
The Dragonfish Responsible Gaming page has recently been redone to improve the presentation of the information and make it easier to digest (especially on mobiles) but they still have the same basic safer gambling tools – reality check, deposit limits, take a break and self exclusion. These last three all have direct links for logged-in players to activate them without having to navigate elsewhere on site. Previous versions of the document made it clear that if you self excluded from one Dragonfish site you would be self excluding from them all but the new version doesn’t.
