Ikibu was a slot and casino site with an absolutely stunning design (both visually and conceptually). It closed in late 2019.
Players at Ikibu travel through a lush fantasy world as they level up; the villages they visit are inhabited by Ikkis (basically blue cartoon monkeys) but these are not visible to the casual visitor as they are located behind an age/pay/geo gate. It is necessary to have an account there to see the full extent of the gamification (and pretty amazing it is too).
A USP of Ikibu is its own in-game currency, called Seeds. These can be traded in for bonus spins at the Ikibu Shop; players can choose the spin value and number of spins (with discounts for bulk purchases). They can also choose the slot, but initially the only option is Starburst; other slots are unlocked via level progression. Seeds can also be used to gain entry to slot races.
Ikibu runs several free to enter slot races every day (with reminders for players , plus a daily chase and weekly quest that have an entry fee. Players score leaderboard points through winning spins (up to the maximum number allowed in the race) and the top scoring players win the prizes (of Seeds). Other promotions include network slots prize draws, and extra Seeds for level progression at pre-specified times.
Ikibu has a great selection of slots including favourites such as Immortal Romance, Guns N Roses, Blood Suckers, Dead or Alive and Bonanza; in all, over 800 slots and casino games are available to play.
The approach to wagering requirements at Ikibu is interesting – basically they have a two tier arrangement. Players can withdraw after meeting the regular wagering requirement but winnings will be subject to a cap – which they can avoid (if lucky enough to win more than that) by meeting a greatly enhanced wagering requirement.
