Casumo Review

Sue Dawson

Rating: 4.8/5

Casumo is an award winning online casino that was the first to make a big thing out of gamification (it was launched in 2012 and came to the UK in 2015).  It bills itself as “the world’s first casino adventure” – players progress through levels and collect trophies and “valuables” such as bonus spins.

Very little of this is obvious when you first visit the site – in order to see the full extent of the adventure and all the trophies that can be collected, you’ll need to open an account and be logged in to verify that you are over 18.

As well as a great many popular slots such as Starburst, Cleopatra, Rainbow Riches, Foxin’ Wins, Gonzo’s Quest, Dead or Alive, Super Monopoly Money, Castle Builder, Butterfly Staxx, Gemix, Immortal Romance and Twin Spin, Casumo has some that are harder to find, including Book of Ra by Novomatic, Evolution Gaming’s live wheel of fortune style game Dream Catcher, Beautiful Bones by Microgaming and Big Time Gaming’s “buy the bonus round” slot White Rabbit.

Progressive jackpots at Casumo include the big ones – Mega Fortune, Mega Fortune Dreams and Mega Moolah – and lots of local progressives including Jackpot King.

Reel Races take place at Casumo every 30 minutes round the clock; play the specified slot against other players and score points by collecting wins and combos of wins in the allowed number of spins within the time limit.  There are hundreds of prizes every day including lots of bonus spins and £1000 cash every evening at 7pm.

Casumo isn’t just about the slots, however – it has a sizeable selection of table games and live casino by Evolution Gaming.

One notable difference in the way things are done at Casumo is that instead of cash being used before bonus as it is at most other casinos, cash and bonus are played at the same time and winnings paid proportionately back to cash and bonus accounts.  For example, if you had £150 cash and £50 bonus, a £2 slot spin would play with £1.50 cash and 50p bonus, and if you won £4 on it, £3 of the winnings would go to cash and £1 to bonus.  Cash can be withdrawn any time but any remaining bonus is lost.

Casumo takes social responsibility very seriously and has a very comprehensive responsible gambling page called Play Okay.  Mobile play at Casumo is via an app which provides a slightly restricted view of the level progression (for instance, it only shows the most recently collected trophies rather than the full range).
