Responsible Gambling Week runs from 12th – 18th October 2017 and this is the first time that such an industry wide initiative has been tried in the UK, involving all sectors online and offline in partnership with the GambleAware and GamCare charities.
The theme of the week is “Let’s Talk About Responsible Gambling” and the aim is to raise awareness not just amongst players but amongst the public as a whole about how to keep gambling safe and fun and where to find help and support for those who need it.
During the week there will be Information Points all round the country, supported by GamCare. The information on offer includes:
There’s also an online chatroom on the GambleAware website where a team of experts will be available to answer these questions, and on Monday 16th October, a live Twitter Q&A will run. Tweet your questions to @RGWeek2017 using #RGWLive – the experts will answer as many questions as possible between noon and 1pm.
The National Gambling Helpline is also there to help during and after responsible Gambling Week. It is available from 8am – midnight 7 days a week, on Freephone 0808 8020 133 and via the Netline live chat service. The Helpline is not just for problem gamblers themselves, but for anyone affected by problem gambling – such as partners, friends and family.
