Blood Suckers Megaways is the highly-anticipated BGT-driven interpretation of Netent’s classic slot game. As well as four base game modifiers, highlights include a free spins pick-me game and reaction wins.
Thematically, BSM more closely resembles the original game than the 2017 sequel. The game is set against a Victorian town townscape that shrouded in mist and fog. A creepy soundtrack accompanies play and helps build the suspense (it doesn’t really but it at least fits the overall theme).

The reels are bedecked with garlic, crossbows, daggers, holy water and a bible. These are the low value symbols. Premium symbols are represented by a female vampire, an aristocrat at Vlad the Impaler. He’s the most valuable symbol paying out as much as 3x your bet for six of a kind combos.

The reactions (cascades) mechanic sees winning symbols falling off the reels to be replaced with new ones. We don’t quite understand why developers will insist on renaming the cascades mechanic. Anyway, its opens up the possibility of infinite wins in the base game which of course never happens but what the hey.

A feature coffin is active during the base game and can appear randomly. This activates one of four modifiers: random wilds, super wilds, bonus scatters and a win multiplier. We’ll be looking at these more closely in our slot of the month, later in February.

To activate the bonus round, you’ll need three scatters in any position. Five spins will then be awarded and you’ll also be presented with a coffin pick me game. The goal is to slay vampires to win a collection of extras. Again these include random wilds, super wilds, bonus spins and win multipliers.

Ancient Disco is a 5 x 3 slot from Red Tiger that was released in early February. Showcased at Ice 2023, the game features instant scatter prizes, a hold and win bonus round and a 25,500x potential top prize.

‘Party like the Egyptians’ is the message here but we doubt if the enigmatic Arabians spun reels or danced to rubbish music in their day. But it’s a bit of fun innit? Colurfully-themed, Ancient Disco’s five reels are flanked by a set of speakers and set against a neon-lit temple background.

Highlighting the psychedelic reel symbols is a pharaoh in sun glasses. As with the other premium symbols, he pays up to 25x your stake when he lands five times across a pay-line.

Although there’s not wild symbol, there is a prize ladder which has been installed above the reels. This is linked to scatter symbols – land six or more in any position and you’ll win an instant prize. It’s possible here to win up to 2500x your bet.

The prize values on the ladder are boosted by up to 8x if you fill a reel or row with scatters – this is how you win the maximum prize. Also in play are pyramid spins. Land three, four or five of these 1 x 2 scatters awards 3, 4 or 5 re-spins. In addition, each one that triggers is converted into ancient scatter symbols that become sticky.

During the free spins, only Ancient Disco scatters or blank spaces appear on the reels. It’s possible to re-set the spin count by landing more scatters. These also become sticky.

Your final win total is calculated when the round is over according to how many Ancient Disco symbols appeared together with their related prize value on the ladder.

Inspired by the Trojan War, GOT is a workman-like effort in the presentation department. There’s nothing at all original in respect of the theme. And we’re not going to bother with background stuff here. Just be assured that the game looks decent enough.

Symbols include a Trojan helmet, a chariot, a horn and an urn of gold. These pay out 5x your stake when you land them five times. Manage to land a full-reel Helen of Troy and you’ll win up to 10x your stake.

Art Deco is a theme that’s started to feature quite often in Red Tiger games. And here it is again in Great Gold. The game features a classic fruit-machine lay-out complete with fruit and lucky 7 symbols.

10,001 Nights Megaways is the ‘dynamic reels’ update to Red Tiger’s popular original game. Four special modifiers are in play here as well as progressive cascading win multipliers and a potential top payout of 10,346x your stake.

The number 10,001 is roughly equivalent to the amount of games knocking about based on Arabian folklore. However, this one has the benefit of being backed by one of the industry’s most esteemed developers. As far as theme goes, RT hasn’t exactly pushed the boat out though. The game looks very similar to its predecessor. So how does it play?

Standard symbols actually play less than the original: up to 3x your stake for six of a kind wins. Happily though, the cascades mechanic is in play – as ever, winning symbols fall off the grid to be replaced with new ones.

Of particular note are magic lamp symbols. These contain oil which is collected in meter above the reels. Filling it unlocks modifiers that trigger randomly. These are: Imperial Spin, Random Wilds, Multi-Pick Bonus and Mega Wilds.

Activating Imperial spin requires you to collect 6 lamps. This removes low value symbols. Random Wilds feature adds as many as 10 wilds to the game area provided you collect 13 lamps.

The first upgrade takes place after 30 coins are collected, with the wild expanding to cover a full reel. Upgrade two occurs when you’ve accumulated 60 gold coins. A wild, which pays the same as the boat, is also in play performing the usual task of replacing symbols to help create winning combinations.

Certain winning symbols reward you with fortune coins that are collected in a blue pot installed above the reels. When the game begins, you start with 38 coins and you’ll need to collect another 138 to activate the fortune bonus game.
