SLM is the second Asian-themed slot from the Skywind Group, with the other being 8 Tigers Gold Megaways. The six reels are set against a well-drawn mountain background with red curtains framing the game area. A surprisingly unobtrusive, plunking Oriental score accompanies play.

Reel symbols include a turtle and three colourful mask thingys. These serve as the premium symbols and pay up to 1.25 your stake if you land six of them left to right as part of a winning combo. A sumptuously-designed Wild in Hanzi script is in play, substituting all others to help create paying combinations. It can also pay out up to 1.4x your stake.

With each spin, a standard pay symbol, wild or scatter is selected as the Mega Stacked symbol. This symbol then appears in stacks for every spin, thus boosting your chances of winning more substantial pay-outs.

It follows then that if you play with stacked scatters, you’ve got a better chance of triggering one of the three bonus rounds. There are three scatters: bronze, silver and gold. The bronze scatter triggers the Si Ling Choice round provided you unveil at least eight in any position. You’ll then be able to choose, eight, ten, thirteen or fifteen free spins.

A minimum of eight silver scatters activate the Si Ling Mystery Bonus round. Jingle Ways Megaways is a Red Tiger yuletide slot featuring BGT’s prolific game engine. So this can only mean one thing – repackaged in-game features such as ‘chain reaction’ wins (translation: cascading reels), more than 100,000 ways to win and a six reel game area.

We’ve tried not to overburden you with Christmas themed slots this year given how many of them are, um, not terribly good. But Jingle Ways Megaways actually turned out to be an entertaining effort from Red Tiger. And it looks great.

Set inside Santa’s workshop, the game area comprises the usual 6 x 7 layout. These are decorated with stockings, gold bells and star decorations. Land a gold bell six times in combination and you’ll win 2.5 x your stake. Each win activates the chain reaction cascading reels mechanic. As ever, winning symbols fall off the reels with new ones falling into their vacated positions.

The rotund bearded German occasionally appears on the reels proffering reel modifier gifts. These include Mega Wilds, Festive Reels, Raining Wilds and a Multiplier Boost. Mega Wilds come in fours, can cover an entire reel (two to five) and include x7 multipliers.

For the Festive Reels gift, all low-value symbols are removed from the reels and you’ll be guaranteed a win. The Raining Wilds gift sees random wilds spread across the four middle reels and another win guaranteed. The multiplier boost is activated exclusively in the bonus round and will increase the free spins multiplier by five.

To trigger the bonus round, you’ll have to receive a related gift from Santa or land three or more snow globe scatters in any position albeit as part of one cascade. Eight free spins will then be awarded as well as a multiplier of x1. You’ll also receive an extra 2 spins for every additional triggering scatter that you unveil.

Big Bass Bonanza Megaways is the third entry in the hugely popular fishing slot series from the aptly-named Reel Kingdom. The main attraction here, in addition to BGT’s licensed engine, is the lucrative tumble mechanic, upgradable free spins and special bonus round modifiers.

It was all about simplicity when it came to the Big Bass games and this latest instalment is no exception. As usual, symbols pay from left to right with medium value symbols paying up to 50x your stake for six of a kind wins. Once again, the fish symbols include cash values which are collected by the fishermen.

The ubiquitous tumble feature is in play which causes new symbols to drop into the vacated positions of winning ones which fall from the reels. This process repeats until winning combos are no longer possible. There are also standard wilds that substitute for all symbols apart from the scatter and fisherman symbol (in the bonus round). They appear on the second, third, fourth and fifth reels as well as the top row.

Three, four or five scatters are required to activate the bonus round. 10, 15 or 20 free spins are then depending on how many triggering scatters you managed to land. During the round, fish symbols drop to the bottom of the game area instead of falling out of the game area. Their cash values are then collected by Fisherman Wilds.

Fisherman Wilds are also collected themselves during the bonus round, with every four collected worth 10 free spins as well as a multiplier upgrade. The multiplier is then applied to the value of all fish that have been accumulated – this can be reactivated three times with as many as 50 free spins available.

Extra fish can also get added to random reel positions in the bonus round via the Dynamite feature. Trigger the Bazooka feature and all symbols are exploded apart from the wild potentially clearing the way for more fish symbols.

Buffalo Blitz Megaways is the third entry in the series of games from Playtech inspired by bison – takes all sorts we suppose. Highlights include multiplier wilds, four progressive jackpots and a special Jackpot Blitz bonus game.

In terms of appearances, BBM is almost identical to its predecessors save for the reel configuration. The game includes the same background and the same passable reel symbols.

In fairness though, visuals were never been the main selling point of the Buffalo Blitz games. It was always about the in-game features, in particular the free spins round which has been updated handsomely for this latest effort.

As with all Megaways games, the reels on BBM contain 2 to 7 symbols. An additional row sits above the main set which can help create additional matching symbols. The symbols can appear stacked on each reel with a minimum of three required to create a win.

Diamond Wild symbols are in play here which can help create combinations. They can appear on the second and sixth reels. The aforementioned free spins round includes four different modes. To gain access you’ll need to land four, five or six scatter.

You’ll then be presented with four options: Blitz, Thunder, Buffalo or Mystery Free Games. Although we don’t have the space don’t to go into these here (see our November slot of the month for more info), it’s possible to as many as 20 free spins or wild multipliers of up to x10. Dwarven Gems Megaways is a six reel slot from Iron Dog Studio featuring some of the best features from BGT’s iconic mechanic including cascading ‘tumble’ wins and 100,000+ betways.
The game’s theme owes much to Lord of the Rings canon, namely Gimli and his dwarf miners. The game area is set against a mine with a bearded miner bestriding the reels. The reels themselves are populated with various gem stones, playing card symbols, dwarfs and mining equipment.

To win, you’ll need to land two, three, four, five or six symbols. To help you form winning combinations, a standard wild is in play that replaces other symbols. There’s also a dwarven bomb symbol that only appears on the top reel and is sticky (see below).

Tumbling/cascading reels are central to the action, with winning symbols blasted off the reels and new ones falling into their vacated spaces. This process continues until wins are no longer possible.

On the top reel is a dwarven bomb symbol that serves as a sticky wild, substituting other symbols and remaining in place during tumbles. If no wins are created, it will explode creating extra spaces for new symbols to fall into place.

The free spins round is activated by landing four gem scatter symbols. You’ll then be presented with a bonus wheel which will determine whether you get to play six, seven, eight, nine, ten or 100 free spins.

Once the round commences, a 1x multiplier is applied which increases by one for each tumbling win you achieve. Special power gem symbols are also active during the free spins round which add two to four new wilds on the second, third and fourth reel. NFT Megaways is a six reel slot from Red Tiger. As the name will indicate for those of you in the know, it’s inspired by crypto currencies and block chain technology. As well as BGT’s popular mechanic, highlights include multiplier wilds and non-resetting free spins.

It’s definitely silly season in slot land. This is the second game we’ve come across in as many weeks that’s thematically original. NFT, which stands for Non-Fungible Token, is all about digital assets and such like.

Comprising a nicely-conceived retro theme complete with pixelated presentation (not sure what retro has to with crypto), the game is centred round the famed Megaways engine.
Typically, this means some sort of cascading wins function. In this case, it’s called ‘chain reaction’ meaning that all winning symbols are removed from the reels to be replaced with new ones.

Above the reels is a four-symbol row populated by special ‘Crypto Punk’ wilds. Whenever these wilds form part of a low-value winning combination, the other symbols involved are collected and contribute minimum x1 multipliers which are then tallied up as part of a win.

When the above wilds help create a high-value symbol win, they’re removed from the game area as part of the chain reaction and the multipliers are reset. Landing at least three, four, five or six scatters in any position activates the Crypto Spins feature. 10, 15, 20 or 25 free spins are then awarded depending on how many triggered the round. For your spins, crypto punk multipliers remain active albeit without the multipliers resetting.

Chilli Heat Megaways is the long-awaited six reel sequel to Pragmatic Play’s wildly popular original game. Highlights include tumble/cascade wins and a re-spin feature that includes seven modifier symbols.

Once again, the action is set against a Mexican street that’s extremely similar if not identical to the first game. Adorning the reels are playing card letters and the usual array of items one might (or might not) associate with South American state including a man in sombrero playing a guitar. He’s the most valuable and will pay out 10x your stake if he appears six times in combination.

The tumble mechanic (aka cascades) sees winning symbols fall from the reels to be replaced with new ones, thus affording you the opportunity of winning again on the same spin. Sadly, the hold and re-spin jackpots and bonus round of the first game have gone. A special re-spin round has been put in their place which goes some way in compensating.

It’s activated by landing six or more money bag symbols in any position on a single spin. Once their associated pay-outs have been made, all standard symbols disappear from the game area. You’ll then receive three re-spins with all reel positions made up of blanks and money bags.

Reels one and six are locked at the beginning of the spins as well as any new money bag symbol that appears. When this occurs, your re-spins are reset. There are also special symbols that appear exclusively in the top horizontal reel and modify the symbols.

These turn up randomly and can unlock reels 1/6, add multipliers and expand individual reels. Once the round is finished, the money bag values are tallied up and added to your pay-out.
