Although 25000 Talons offers nothing new in the visuals department, game-play is entertaining and occasionally very rewarding. Age of the Gods: God of Storms 2 is the latest in an endless line of AOG games. Confusingly, this Ancient Greek caper has been developed by Playtech Vikings. Not to worry though because, like its many stable-mates, it’s packed with features including a wild wind re-spins bonus feature and no less than four progressive jackpots.

Visually, AOTGGOST (even the acronym is long) is like most of the other games. It’s look decent enough without really pushing the envelope in terms of design ingenuity. Playing card icons make up to the low value symbols while mythical characters make up the premium symbols. These include Artemis and a Spartan warrior who’s the highest paying, rewarding up to x20 your stake for a five symbol combination.

Once again, two wilds are in play – a standard one which replaces others to create winning combos and an Argo ship wild. To win, you’ll need to land five symbols (a pot of gold, a pint of stout etc, etc) across a pay-line. A four-leaf clover wild is in play which performs the usual task of replacing other symbols to help create winning combinations. You can also win 10x your stake if five appear on a pay-line.

Buffalo Blitz Megaways is the third entry in the series of games from Playtech inspired by bison – takes all sorts we suppose. Highlights include multiplier wilds, four progressive jackpots and a special Jackpot Blitz bonus game.

In terms of appearances, BBM is almost identical to its predecessors save for the reel configuration. The game includes the same background and the same passable reel symbols.

In fairness though, visuals were never been the main selling point of the Buffalo Blitz games. It was always about the in-game features, in particular the free spins round which has been updated handsomely for this latest effort.

As with all Megaways games, the reels on BBM contain 2 to 7 symbols. An additional row sits above the main set which can help create additional matching symbols. The symbols can appear stacked on each reel with a minimum of three required to create a win.

Diamond Wild symbols are in play here which can help create combinations. They can appear on the second and sixth reels. The aforementioned free spins round includes four different modes. To gain access you’ll need to land four, five or six scatter.

Jin Ji Bao Xi Megaways is a six reel slot from Scientific Gaming that’s the shape-shifting sequel to SG’s popular original game. Highlights include multiple free spin modes, four jackpots and an incredibly catchy title. OK, that last one maybe not so much.

The game, which translates as Endless Treasure, is of course inspired by Far Eastern culture although the visual embellishments are kept to a minimum. The game area is set against a simple background while the reels are adorned with a koi, turtle, tiger and dragon. A non-descript Chinese soundtrack struggles along in the background, picking up pace with every spin and in-game event.

Typically, winning combinations are created by landing at least three matching symbols from left to right. However, the game doesn’t include the cascades engine which is a bit of a drag. To compensate, SG have thrown in an assortment of bonus features.

As ever, the most worthwhile of these is the free spins round. This is activated by landing a minimum of four coins scatters in any position. During your free spins, the symbols comprise playing card icons as well as a wild and scatter.

You also get to choose your own symbol which will determine the number of free spins you receive. For the Koi you’ll receive 12 free spins with 19 koi symbols appearing on the reels. For the turtle, 10 free spins are awarded together with 20 turtles on the reels.

Immortal Romance, Microgaming’s iconic five reel slot, was recently dusted off and linked up to the famed Mega Moolah jackpot network. Sadly, there’s not much that sets this 2021 update apart from the original. But we’ll give you a run-down anyway.

The same gothic theme remains in place with the stone encased reels populated by the same Buffy-esque characters. The same Sunset Beach-inspired soundtrack also warbles in the background, while the forbidding sound of a vacuum cleaner permeates the spine-tingling church setting with every spin.

Once you’ve hit the mute button, you’ll see that the highest value standard symbol is Sarah (the smiling brunette protagonist). The wild is rather lucrative too, paying out 50x your stake when it appears across a pay-line five times – any wins involving said wild is subject to a double multiplier.

Also in play during the base game is the Wild Desire feature which triggers randomly and fills all of the reels with wilds, thus leading to pretty substantial pay-outs.
A door-knocker serves as a scatter symbol and activates the bonus round provided that you land at least three on the same spin. Manage this and you’ll be presented with the Chamber of Spins as well as one of four character-related free spin options.

Adventures Beyond Wonderland is a five reel slot from Playtech featuring 243 pay-lines, expanding reels, a free spins round and progressive jackpot.

The game is of course based on Lewis Carroll’s diminutive heroine, Alice and her curious dream-world exploration. Thematically, ABWS is an absolute triumph. The five reels are set against a beautifully drawn fantasy background complete with winding fairy-tail tree and a toadstool, upon which sits the famed caterpillar.

Reel symbols include playing card symbols which for once fit the actual theme of the game. They’re designed in Tim Burton typeface and are joined by a top hat, pocket watch, crown and potion bottle. During the base game, the caterpillar blows bubbles onto positions above the second, third and fourth reels. With each spin the bubbles moves one position to the left – land a winning combination when the bubble bonus is present and you’ll win one of the prizes contained within a bubble. Then there’s the rather long-winded Alice feature in which Alice falls onto the middle three reels, popping the bubbles as she goes and rewarding you with their contents.
