April in the world of online bingo is all about Easter promotions, complete with the usual crop of groan-inducing puns on the word egg. There’s even a seasonally themed bingo site – Easter Bingo is a Dragonfish network site with a bingo/slots/free spins welcome offer.
- Virtue Fusion Bingo Site Promotions
- 888/Cassava Bingo Site Promotions
- Jumpman Promotions (15 Network / Wheel of Slots)
- Cozy Promotions
- Alternative Bingo Platforms
The Virtue Fusion / Playtech network is all about big money! Bingo Linx games play several times every day across the entire network, typically with prizes of £1000+, and at certain times of the month the prizes get even bigger including a total of £250,000 in prizes over the final weekend of every month. The downside of such huge prizes is that so many players are involved that the chance an individual player has of winning is pretty small. The pre-buy system on Playtech powered sites can make buying tickets for the big games slightly confusing as you need to know which room and which time to order the tickets for, instead of just going to a separate room or tab from the lobby as you would at an 888 powered site.
Many Virtue Fusion sites now have the Bouncy Balls bingo room. This new variant uses the game engine from the very popular Cash Cubes but is themed on the popular Bouncy Balls slot. Just like the earlier game, it is single ticket with a choice of 4 stake levels and available on HTML5 only (so not via the old style Flash bingo lobby).
Virtue Fusion promotions for April include a BOGOF on 9 BingoLinx games every day. The games all also have an XTG feature, ticket prices are mostly 50p and the total of prize money for the promotion is £500,000.
Sun Bingo and Fabulous Bingo migrated from Gamesys to the Virtue Fusion platform back in August 2016 but these sites do NOT look and play like regular Virtue Fusion sites. Instead the bingo rooms and lobby look very much as they did prior to the move, with the Virtue Fusion software running quietly in the background; this brings Cash Cubes (and now Bouncy Balls) on to the desktop without the new style (HTML5) Virtue Fusion bingo lobby – a welcome development for the many players who dislike the new lobby. Fabulous has the better welcome offer of the two sites, but fewer ongoing promotions.
The Showstopper prize draw promotion runs at Sun from 18th – 25th April. After opting in with code LONDON players get one entry for each £10 played on bingo or £30 on slots. The prize is London theatre tickets for two complete with dinner, travel and overnight hotel stay. Sun’s Having A Ball live bingo chat game show is also back on site every Friday in April. The month winds up with Jackpotty, a series of £5K jackpot games, every evening at 9pm from 22nd – 30th April, plus a 100% bonus back on losses in any 90 ball room between 8pm and 10pm on the same days. Each day, a player can collect up to £10 bonus in this way, but it has to be spent almost immediately as it expires at midnight! The bonus has a 3x wagering requirement.
Fabulous Bingo have extended their Win Win Bingo promotion to run util the end of April. The special games run at intervals from noon until 6pm and have a 5p ticket price, a maximum 6 tickets per player and a prize fund of up to £20. Players that don’t win a prize receive their stakes back in bonus if they paid with bonus and cash if they paid with cash. A prize draw promotion, Spring Into Style, also runs for the whole of April. Each week, there is an overnight stay in London for 2 people to be won, including dinner, theatre tickets and £500 to spend in House of Fraser. To enter a weekly draw, opt in with code SHOPPING and play £10 on bingo or £30 on slots.
Bgo have some exclusive BGO World bingo rooms and an exclusive free spins offer for new players, plus an excellent selection of slots and a very nice slots/casino welcome offer that can be taken as an alternative to bingo bonus. The Big Competition runs every month; to qualify for the three special games on the last Friday of the month (28th April) players need to deposit £20 and play £10 on bingo and £10 on mini games in the exclusive Fairy Delight bingo room. These games have shopping voucher prizes on top of the regular prize pot. Most weekends there is an extra bonus on offer (usually play £10 get £10, with a 2x wagering requirement and 7 day expiry) and the code is announced on the Friday. Spring Break consists of cash only feature games every half hour from 2pm in the exclusive Golden Galaxy room – xTG and Roll On games Monday – Friday and 1p games with a £5 guaranteed FH prize on Saturdays. BGO also have the Boss’s Spring Giveaway which is a slots prize draw running on a weekly cycle until 30th April. Players opt in and then receive one draw ticket for each £10 played on slots; they can earn up to 50 tickets each week and also receive 10 free spins for every 10 tickets they collect (the winnings from the free spins are paid as a slots bonus with a 35x wagering requirement and 3 day expiry). The winner of each week’s draw can choose between four prizes – a VR gaming bundle, a quad bike, a Sonos home cinema sound system and an Apple bundle. More free spins are on offer each weekend to depositors (15 for deposits up to £40, 60 for deposits of £40 or more).
At Bet365 there is almost always a big exclusive going on. Pick & Mix Bingo is the latest of these; it started on 24th April and finishes with three All Winners Finale games on 26th May. Bet365 have introduced a new twist into the format this time round; all of the Selection Box qualifier games in the Pick & Mix room are multi stake and when you get a line or FH win in one of these games, the finale game for which you receive a ticket is determined by the stake level you chose. Win with a 5p stake to receive a ticket to the 8pm game which has a FH prize of a 40 inch Samsung TV, win with a 10p stake to receive a ticket to the 8.30pm game which has a FH prize of a Samsung Galaxy S8, or win with a 20p stake to receive a ticket to the 9pm game which has a FH prize of a holiday to Bruges for 2 people. As usual, the free tickets are in addition to the regular prizes for the qualifier games. Players can hold up to 30 tickets for each finale game and once a week, there is a special Golden Ticket Selection Box game; the full house winner of this game will have their finale tickets topped up to the maximum of 30 for the game which corresponds to their stake level. Tickets for finale games can also be bought for £1, again up to the maximum of 30. As usual there is also a Party Hour and this time the 8 games (which have prizes of cash or Love2Shop vouchers) run in between the finale games. Players can claim 6 free tickets to each game for every £10 played in the Pick & Mix room during the promo period; tickets for the Party Hour games can also be bought for 10p each and there is a limit of 36 tickets per player. It appears that there is also a bingo bonus community jackpot to be shared between the tickets held by non winning players in the finale games but it is not clear how much it is.
Bet365 also have Ready Steady Go, which is a regular double your winnings promotion that runs every other week (10th – 16th April and 24th – 30th April). To qualify players need to opt in (this only needs to be done once) and play in the 6 featured bingo rooms. Any cash wins in these rooms from cash ticket purchases will be doubled up to an extra £10 for play on desktop, another £10 for play on tablet and yet another £10 for play on mobile. The cash has to be withdrawn or played within 7 days.
Bet365’s exclusive bingo rooms include the Mojo Lounge which runs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 9pm with all cards at 5p and at least 50 Roll On prizes. FH winners also have the opportunity to choose a Mojo Vault key. If the key they pick opens the vault they win £20 bingo bonus. If no-one manages to open the vault during the evening the amount is incremented by £5 and this continues until someone wins. To get into Mojo Lounge for the week you have to spend £10 cash on bingo over the preceding weekend (or any time up until 30 minutes before the first game). Bet365 now have the new style (HTML5) bingo lobby and rooms, with the option to use the old Flash lobby if preferred. Lastly there is the rolling Bingo Slots Club promotion. Opt in and earn one loyalty point for each £10 played on slots (but do be aware that only slots in the Games section of Bet365 Bingo count, not slots from elsewhere on site) , and at the end of the 2 week period an extra slots bonus (with a 20x wagering requirement) is given out for reaching a certain level of Loyalty Points on a certain number of days – this ranges from £1 for getting 10 Loyalty Points on 2 of the days to a whopping £1000 for getting 2000 Loyalty Points on 10 of the days. Qualifying periods for this month are 3rd – 16th and 17th – 30th April.
Sky Bingo contiues to run a set of promotions to tie in with its recently launched exclusive 40 ball bingo variant, Tipping Point Bingo – themed on the ITV game show. This has a similar game mechanic to Rainbow Riches Bingo, with 8 numbers per ticket arranged in two clusters of 4, and prizes for 1 cluster and full house. The progressive jackpot is much more straightforward, though – split 50/50 between the winner and the other players for bingo in 12 calls or fewer. Ticket prices are 10p – 25p and there’s a maximum of 30 tickets per player per game. There’s plenty of opportunities to try this new room out for free; not only is £25 of the welcome bonus offer earmarked just for Tipping Point Bingo, but every evening between 8pm and 9pm until further notice 10 free games, with £100 bingo bonus (1 x wagering requirement) to be won each time, alternate with 10p ticket games, and Sky are also sending out Tipping Point mystery bonus codes by text message. The Tipping Point Drop Zone runs from 9pm – 10pm every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday until the end of April; the special games run at randomly selected times during the hour with a ticket price of 25p and extra prizes to be won – and what the prizes are depends on which Drop Zone is in play, which will be announced on the day – Drop Zone 1 has cash prizes, Drop Zone 2 technology, Drop Zone 3 shopping vouchers and Drop Zone 4 holiday vouchers. Further Tipping Point bingo promotions are being run via their Facebook page.
Sky’s £10K Slots Pot is back for a fourth week from 25th – 30th April. Opt in with code SLOTSPOTWK4 and get one entry into the £10K prize draw for each £10 of cash play on slots (2 entries for £10 played on Rainbow Riches Free Spins). Prizes of £100 or more are paid as cash and prizes under £100 as a slots bonus with a single playthrough requirement and 7 day expiry.
Sky players can also visit the Vegas section of the site (offering a wider selection of slots than the bingo section, including the new and exclusive Tipping Point slot). Here, there is almost always some kind of big multi level promotion running and until 30th April they have Sky Vegas Millions and Spin It to Win It. Players get one free spin per day on the Sky Vegas Prize Machine, with no minimum spend. Prizes include cash, tickets to the daily Sky Vegas Millions prize draw, bonuses, free spins and other offers – and the winnings from the free spins are paid in cash with no wagering requirement to play through! Players also earn tickets to the daily draw via play – one ticket is awarded for each £10 played on slots or £50 played on table games. The top prize each day is £5000 cash and there are over 1500 other cash prizes. High rollers can participate in the Golden Jackpot prize draw which takes place on Fridays during the promo period by collecting a Golden Ticket when they rack up 500 daily prize draw entries; this gives one entry to the next and all subsequent Golden Jackpot draws and there is no limit to the number of Golden Tickets a player can have. In each Golden Jackpot draw, one player will win £25,000 cash.
At Mecca Bingo Magic Mondays is a 20% bonus back offer running every week in April. The bingo bonus is calculated as 20% of the player’s cash stakes for the whole week in the new look bingo rooms ONLY and to qualify they have to opt in on the Monday with the code of the week and play at least £10 during the week. The maximum bonus per week is £20 and it has a single playthrough requirement and 7 day expiry.
There’s also the usual series of slots promotions, including a game of the week promotion which gives 100% bonus back on losses for players who opt in with code WKGAME and deposit and play £10 on the specified slot; the bonus has a 20x wagering requirement, can only be used on the same slot again and the maximum bonus is £10. This week (until 30th April) the slot is Chain Reactors: Super Trails.
Stakes Race is a high rollers’ slots promotion, on site from 24th – 30th April. The name suggests it is a leaderboard, but it is not; the slots bonus prizes are guaranteed on reaching the staking targets. These start at £300 of cash play, which awards a bonus of £2; to qualify for the top bonus of £300, a staggering £45,000 of play is required. All bonus prizes have a 20 x wagering requirement and 7 day expiry.
Paddy Power Bingo and Betfair Bingo are both part of the same organisation, the megabookie created by the merger of the two parent companies which was completed last year. Despite having a shared bingo room the sites are different in character. This week (24th – 30th April), both sites have a Britain’s Got Talent themed £5K prize draw (there are 10 prizes of £500 cash each). Opt in with code TALENT and get one draw entry for each £10 played on bingo or slots (2 entries for £10 played on Cash Cubes Slot or Double Juicy).
The big news at Paddy Power is that they finally have the new (HTML5) bingo lobby, although players can still play in the classic (Flash) lobby if they prefer. To tie in with this they are giving all their players £10 of Cash Cubes bingo bonus, released in 5 lots of £2, available for a week starting on Mondays; to claim, enter the code of the week (NEWLOBBY). Each bonus has a 5x wagering requirement and 7 day expiry. The site also has a number of regular exclusives. Money Back Mondays is one of these; it requires opt-in but this only has to be done once a month. The promotion involves three £100 guaranteed games that play between 7pm and 10pm; if you play these games and don’t win overall, your cash stakes will be refunded as bingo bonus.
The exclusive bingo promotions at Betfair are few and far between but they do include rather a good regular free bingo promotion; £25 of cash play on bingo Monday – Thursday secures entry to Friday’s VIP Lounge bingo room which comprises 3 hours of free bingo from 7pm, with a total prize fund of £1500. Occasionally they run one-off exclusives; these can be in the bingo section only or sitewide (often in conjunction with sporting events such as horse races) and include leaderboard promotions and sharepots. By far the best promotions at Betfair, however, are slots promotions to be found over in the Arcade section – and they include an amazing £15,000 weekly free bets raffle that you only need to play one single slots cash spin to enter! There’s no need to open another account to play the slots there as the same wallet can be used in both places.
Gala Bingo were the first of the big Virtue Fusion bingo sites to introduce the HTML5 bingo lobby, over a year ago now, and their version of it includes the option in some rooms of placing a range of side bets (odd/even, colour, pairs or high/low) on the ball on which bingo will be called! Although both Flash and HTML5 versions are available on desktop and you can choose whichever you prefer, HTML5 is required to access several of the rooms including the Chase and Emmerdale bingo rooms, Cash Cubes and the Big Banker room (find out more about these in our article about online bingo variants). Gala have an ongoing daily free scratchcard promotion whereby two free scratchcards (1 x Roy’s Rolls and 1 x Buzzby) can be claimed on any day you play at least £5 on bingo. There is also a daily slots promotion; play £10 on bingo or slots to claim a free spin on the special Win-A-Spin slot. This gives out a guaranteed bonus of 20p – £50 for use on one of the six Gala Gold slots, with only a single playthrough requirement (and 7 day expiry).
The £100K Emmerdale Giveaway runs on a weekly cycle until 14th May, in a format that one would normally expect to see at Bet365 not Gala. A Grand Finale game will play at 10pm each Sunday with a FH prize of a VIP Behind the Scenes Emmerdale Tour as well as £500 cash; players get one free ticket (up to a maximum of 36) for each line or full house win in the Emmerdale room during the week and they can also buy tickets for 20p each (up to a maximum of 72 tickets in all). As is usually the case with free tickets at Gala, players must be in the bingo room at the time for the tickets to play. The £100K refers to the total of the prizes in the Emmerdale Bingo room over the lifetime of the promotion. Emmerdale Road to Rewards runs on a weekly cycle until 12th May. It consists of a weekly prize draw with £15K worth of prizes (Emmerdale themed items, bonuses, and a £3K Emmerdale Bingo Bonus to be shared by all entrants) and free entry to the Happymakers Friday evening free bingo room which has £6000 in cash prizes and a £1000 bonus sharepot for losing players. To qualify, opt in then deposit and play £5 on Emmerdale Bingo. Additional draw entries (up to the maximum of 20 per player per week) can be earned at the rate of one per £5 deposited and played on Emmerdale Bingo or any other Happyland games.
Coral Bingo has many of the same extra features as Gala Bingo, including Coronation Street Bingo, Big Banker Bingo, Bingo Lotto , Coconut Island Bingo and Emmerdale Bingo and the side bet facility. Coral also has the regular Bingoal room at 5pm every Saturday and Sunday; this is 90 minutes of free 90 ball bingo with no entry restrictions, to play while watching (or instead of watching) the football (outside the football season as well). Each game pays £5 bingo bonus for 1L, £10 bingo bonus for 2L and £15 bingo bonus for FH – these bonuses can only be used to buy bingo tickets, and have to be used within 7 days, but apart from that there are no wagering requirements. Coral also have the VIP For A Month promotion and this will run throughout 2017. Each month, a prize draw will take place for all players who have racked up £30 of cash play on bingo during the month, and 5 winners will receive a temporary upgrade for the following month to the Diamond VIP level (which includes weekly cashback and 2 x weekly £500 free bingo sessions).
A free bingo promotion runs from 24th April – 7th May; to gain entry to the free room, which runs on Mondays 1st and 8th May with bingo bonus and sweet hamper prizes, play £10 cash on the Sugar Rush Rascals slot during the previous week (to opt in, use code JELLYBELLY for week 1 and CHEWCHEW for week 2).
One very special thing about Coral is the Coral Connect Card. This allows players to access any Coral product on any device (or in shop or by telephone) and to deposit and withdraw in cash at any Coral shop. This has been in place for some time but now Coral have gone further and introduced true omni-channel play on the Tiki Paradise slot, with extra features that are unlocked by playing on different channels or using Coral Connect.
Ladbrokes Bingo had a couple of Easter promotions and a St George’s Day slots bonus but these have finished now.
William Hill Bingo have a recently introduced exclusive bingo variant on site, via the HTML5 lobby only. Bingo Bowl is a 50 ball game themed on a bowling alley; the 10 numbers appear on bowling pins. As well as a room jackpot for winning full house in 15 calls, there is a bonus game called the Kingpin Jackpot. This consists of a separate card which is marked off whenever someone wins bingo on one of the remaining numbers; there’s a fixed prize of £5 for any number and a progressive jackpot for completing the card. William Hill also have Trapdoor Bingo and while at first glance this looks like yet another variant, it is an add-on feature that appears in games at 5 past the hour every evening in April. The FH winner of the game chooses one of the five trapdoors to place the £150 cash Pot of Gold on; if the trapdoor opens the pot drops through it to oblivion but if the pot survives, it is split 50/50 between the winner and all other players (to qualify, players must have at least 6 tickets in play).
This week (24th – 28th April) there is a daily bingo bonus offer. Opt in with the code of the day and play £10 on bingo to receive the £3 bonus, which has a 2 x wagering requirement and 7 day expiry.
Betfred Bingo is another Playtech / Virtue Fusion bingo site with only occasional exclusives but what they do have (as well as their own bingo rooms and the new HTML5 bingo lobby complete with Cash Cubes and Bouncy Balls) is the mother of all welcome bonus offers including a bingo bonus, a slots bonus, a casino bonus and a Lotto free bet.
Literally hundreds of bingo sites, on several different networks, use the 888/Dragonfish platform but all have 888 UK Limited as the licence holder. Sometimes 888 run big link games which join together different networks; a series of big games each with a £200,000 prize fund ran at almost all 888 sites in 2015 and early 2016 and following this, a big link 90 ball bingo room was run as a special daily promotion for August 2016. This was done without any guaranteed prizes whatsoever but the sheer number of players ensured that the prize money was always attractive, and it proved so popular that the promotion was indefinitely extended, the first game each evening was given a £1000 guaranteed prize fund, and a 75 ball room was added. Both these rooms are currently a nightly fixture at many (but not all) 888 sites, and some others have the 90 ball room only.
Another thing and rather less welcome thing that an increasing number of 888 sites (eventually, probably all of them) have in common is a restriction on what can be won when playing with a slots bonus, whether this is a deposit bonus, a free bonus or the winnings from free spins; unless they are lucky enough to win a progressive jackpot, the maximum the player can cash out is £400 plus the value of the original bonus.
The Ignite network (owned by Canadian iGaming giant Intertain who also own Jackpot Joy) includes Costa Bingo and several others. It is well known for its inventive promotions, but some of the sites are much better for promotions than others. No-deposit bonuses and automatic reload bonuses are on offer at many of the sites on this network and another feature which is good for fair play is that most of the regular bingo rooms have a lower than usual maximum purchase of 24 or 48 cards.
Ignite sites now offer players the choice of the classic bingo lobby or a tablet style lobby. The second option brings the tablet version of the bingo platform (not quite the same as the mobile version) to the desktop and the reason this has been done is because Google Chrome is phasing out Flash, which is needed for the classic lobby but not the tablet version (tablets and mobiles have not supported Flash for some time, or not at all in the case of Apple devices). The Chrome browser has started automatically disabling Flash and although it is possible to re-enable it for specific sites players may find it easier just to switch to the tablet lobby.
Ignite have a cross-brand rewards scheme, the Diamond Club, which allows players to collect Diamonds at one site (through play or via special promotions) and redeem them at another, although in order to have the full range of redemption options it is necessary to reach the higher levels of the loyalty scheme which is determined by lifetime deposits. The only options for those with deposits of less than £50 are deposit bonus codes and cards to special prize games, which run once or twice a month at many of the sites; the prizes are typically worth around £500 and as well as selling the cards for 10 Diamonds each, the sites give free cards to players who complete certain specified tasks (usually depositing and/or playing) during the promo period. Cards also go on sale for £2 or £5 cash each but this is extremely poor value considering the excessively large number of cards that are usually in play for these games.
The Ignite sites each have their own bingo rooms and chat, but the free bingo rooms (some of which are open to all) are networked and so are most of the jackpot games (each site has at least one of these each evening). Apart from at Fancy Bingo – where almost all games are penny bingo – the only penny bingo at these sites comes in the form of a network 90 ball game which runs 6 times a day (at most but not all sites) with a £25/£15/£10 prize split, and a 75 ball game for funded players (again shared between several sites) on Wednesday or Saturday evening for £50 cash or a tangible prize, depending on which site you play from.
A big signature promotion at Ignite is a weekly free sliding jackpot game for the week’s depositors (6 cards can be claimed on the day of the game by those who have made a deposit in the last 7 days). There are two versions of this 75 ball coverall game, one on Fridays and one on Sundays; most sites have one or the other but a couple have neither and a few have both. As sliding jackpots go the Friday night game is certainly one of the better ones as the £10,000 cash headline prize does not start to slide until the ball count gets higher than 44 and for the prize to go all the way down to the baseline guaranteed £1000, bingo would have to be in a very slow 70 calls. Since it is not unusual for this particular game to have 20,000 or more cards in play it is extremely unlikely that the game would last that long. It also has extra prizes; 1TG players share £1000 bonus and 2TG players share £2000 bonus. Compared to this, the Sunday night game is vastly inferior; the ball count required to win the £5000 jackpot is ludicrously low at 29 calls, the baseline £500 is for bingo in 51 or more calls and there’s nothing for 1TG or 2TG. Of course it is still worth claiming cards for the Sunday game whenever you happen to have made the necessary deposit at a site that offers it, as they then cost nothing.
The playing card based bingo variant Bingo Vegas (the same game already seen at Foxy and 888 Ladies) was launched at Costa last summer and is slowly being rolled out to other sites including Sing Bingo, City Bingo and recent launch Kingdom of Bingo. Costa has two extra Bingo Vegas rooms – a speed version on mobile only and a free room on Flash desktop only (6pm – midnight).
Costa Bingo was the first site in the group to open way back in 2009. It remains the busiest of them all with the largest number of bingo rooms to choose from, runs the most promotions and was the original home of the Friday sliding jackpot game which it still runs. Free Spin Frenzy is a 5 line game that runs every Sunday evening; cards are 5p and as the name suggests the prizes are free spins (100 per line). Garden Upgrade is scheduled for 3rd May and all three prizes in this 90 ball game are garden furniture items. Cards are on sale for £5 cash or 10 Diamonds and until 2nd May players receive 1 free card every time they deposit £20. Costa also has Spring Kickstarter, a series of prize games for funded players on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays until 4th May, with free or very low cost cards and a selection of shopping vouchers to be won; these games are also running at some of the other sites with different prizes. The Bingo Roulette games play on 21st, 23rd, 25th, 27th and 29th April at 10pm. In these 75 ball games, the prize is multiplied by 5 if the winning ball comes from the specified column (1-15 on 21st, 16 – 30 on 23rd and so on). The first four games in the series have a card price of 5p and a baseline prize of £50 and the final game has a card price of £1 and a baseline prize of £100; one free card for the final game can be collected for every 4 cards bought for the earlier games in the series.
At Treasure Bingo the regular Truth or Dare deposit bonus promotion runs most weeks. Each week, for a deposit of £10 – £100, the TRUTH code and the DARE code can be used once each. TRUTH awards a specified bonus and DARE awards a mystery bonus. The TRUTH bonus until 23rd April is only 55% so we expect lots of players to choose DARE. Armfuls of Treasure is a 90 ball game which will be played on 3rd May with prizes of Pandora bracelets. Cards cost £5 or 10 Diamonds and until 2nd May players can collect free cards by playing the featured slots (1 card for each £10 of play on Dazzle Me, Cool Jewels or Da Vinci Diamonds) or by making deposits (1 card for each £20 deposited). Treasure has both Friday and Sunday sliding jackpot games for depositors.
The Wish Bingo weekly prize games are called Wishing Well and they run in the Wednesday time slot; April’s prizes are all Easter chocolate. Spring Smoothies is a 90 ball game to be played on 3rd May. All three prizes are food processors and until 2nd May players get one free card for each £20 deposited and one free card for each £10 played on Cash Cuisine, Fruit Abduction or Reel Rush. Cards can also be bought for £5 or 10 Diamonds.
At City Bingo the promotions are themed round a different city each month and this month – again as we expected – City Cat is in Amsterdam to enjoy the spring flowers. The Coffee Shop Kitchen 75 ball game plays on 1st May and has a prize of a coffee machine, cups and a £100 Tesco voucher . The only way to get free cards for this game is through slots play – until 30th April, 3 cards are awarded for each £20 played on Asteroids, Fruit Warp or Cats. Cards are also on sale for the usual £2 or 10 Diamonds. The weekly prize games are called City Souvenirs and run in the Wednesday time slot; Aprils prizes include a Dutch cheese hamper and a Dutch vodka gift set. City is one of the sites to have a regular chat tourney, which runs for an hour at a time in a different room and at a different time of day every weekday. It is unlike the usual sort of chat tourney in that instead of getting points for winning bingo, you get them for shouting out a city themed catchphrase (this month it is FLOWER POWER) when your lucky number is called. You then get to pick a grid number to see what your score is and the two players with the highest score at the end of the hour win 2500 Diamonds each. City Bingo has the Sunday version of the weekly sliding jackpot game (and in fact was its original home) and also now has a free daily game, Break the Bank, for players who have deposited at least £5 during the preceding 7 days. The monthly Guess the City promotion is now back on site, until 1st May. City Cat will move to a fresh destination on May 2nd and it is going to be space themed (to tie in with Star Wars Day on May 4th) – but will it be space itself, or somewhere on earth with a space connection?
Rio Bingo has weekly prize games in the Saturday time slot, called Gift Shop. April’s prizes are all spring cleaning items. Springtime Skies is a 75 ball game to be played on 1st May with a £400 hot air balloon trip for 2 to be won. Card cost £2 or 10 Diamonds and until 30th April players can collect one free card for each £20 deposited and for each £10 played on Action Bank, Crown Gems or Birds on a Wire. Rio has the Sunday sliding jackpot game.
At Sing Bingo the musical theme for April is the late great Marvin Gaye. Ain’t No Mountain High Enough is a 75 ball game to be played on 1st May with a 4 might stay in Snowdonia to be won. Free cards for this game can be won in qualifier games on 18th and 25th April and as usual they are also on sale for £2 cash or 10 Diamonds. The weekly prize games are called TFI Friday and as you’d expect they run in the Friday time slot. The cards are a bit more expensive at 5p as compared to the Wednesday and Saturday games at other sites but the prizes tend to be better as well. April’s prizes include a microwave oven and a necklace. Sing has a regular chat tourney which runs for 2 hours each day Monday – Friday (a different room and time each day, details on site). The rules for this have recently been changed and it no longer seems to be a team tourney, nor does it depend on winning any bingo games (although players must have at least one card in play to take part). Each player picks a number and gives it to the chat host; first to shout out when their number is called wins 2 tourney points plus 250 Sing Points for themselves and 250 for a roomie of their choice. Second to shout out wins one tourney point. At the end of the session the top scorer wins 5000 Sing Points, second place wins 3000 and third place wins 1000. Sing also has Jukebox Jumble, a free game that can be played once a day for 7 days after depositing £5 or more and pays out bonus codes, free spins, Sing Points and so forth.
Fancy Bingo has recently had a rather radical makeover. The Mad Hatter remains as the mascot but everything else suddenly looks much more modern and better suited to mobile and tablet play. Fancy is a penny bingo site and most of the regular games have 1p tickets; that is its USP. May Queen is Fancy’s next big game; it is a 75 ball game scheduled for 1st May with a Pandora bracelet and earrings to be won and until 30th April players get a free card every time they deposit £5. Cards can also be bought for £2 cash or 10 Diamonds. The weekly prize games are called Fancy That and play on Saturday nights, priced at 1p or 2p. April’s prizes are all outdoor toys. The sliding jackpot at Fancy is the Sunday version of the game, with the slight difference that players have to have funded their account in the previous 4 days to qualify (rather than the previous 7 days as at other sites), and there’s also a free daily game, Tea Party, for recent depositors similar to that at other sites in the group but again, the period for which it can be played following a deposit is 4 days rather than 7.
At Monkey Bingo, the weekly prize games are called Monkey Nuts and run in the Wednesday slot. April’s prizes include a cheese and wine hamper and an Amazon Fire tablet. The Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday prize games are running at Monkey under the name Meals on Marvin and the prizes are restaurant vouchers. The sliding jackpot at Monkey is the Sunday version.
Kingdom of Bingo ran its first ever prize game on 2nd April and to follow it has a series of 75 ball prize games every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday until 4th May (as also seen at Costa and other sites). Cards are free on Tuesdays, 1p on Wednesdays and 2p on Thursdays and the prizes are all make-up items. Kingdom of Bingo also has Bingo Vegas and both of the weekly sliding jackpots.
The 80s themed Rewind Bingo has yet to run a big prize game, but is running the same series of prize games as Kingdom of Bingo and other sites but with different prizes – 50 free spins on Tuesdays, £50 bonus on Wednesdays and a selection of tangible prizes on Thursdays. Rewind has the Friday sliding jackpot game.
It used to be the case that all Ignite sites had a no deposit welcome bonus offer, but several of the older sites have stopped that now. Some do still have worthwhile incentives for depositors; Season Bingo and Crocodile Bingo for instance both have a daily free game for players who have deposited in the last 7 days, with prizes of bonuses, loyalty points, Diamonds, free spins or even cash – and along with Dino Bingo and Frozen Bingo they give access to the Friday sliding jackpot. Season also has the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday prize games, with Hotel Chocolat gift packs to be won.
Ignite also operate two bingo sites, Deep Sea Bingo and Sweet Shop Bingo, which are on the main Dragonfish network instead of their own network. Both these bingo sites have the Dragonfish network rooms (including the 888 big link rooms, which aren’t available on the Ignite network) and promotions and no exclusive rooms or promotions. What they do have, though, is the Diamond Club – so Diamonds from other sites can be redeemed for bonuses there, and Diamonds earned at Deep Sea or Sweet Shop can be used for bonuses and prize game tickets at other Ignite sites.
The Tarco/Netboost network is powered by Dragonfish and the licence holder is 888 UK Limited, but the network and all the sites on it are actually owned by Daub Alderney (of Kitty Bingo fame).
This network has two USPs. The first is complicated welcome bonus offers that include everything but the kitchen sink – bingo bonus, slots bonus, free bingo tickets, free spins and a spin the wheel game – and good examples of this are found at Gossip Bingo and the newest site on the network Ted Bingo. Not all the sites have this type of offer though; Robin Hood Bingo and Tip Top Bingo for instance have plain but generous bingo bonus offers. Other Netboost sites include Loony Bingo, Sugar Bingo, Moon Bingo, Polo Bingo and Cupcake Bingo.
The other USP is sliding jackpots, of which there are many, some once a month and some every day. If you want to know more about sliding jackpots, we have a long and detailed article on the subject which you can read here.
One such game is Super Millionaire which plays on the third Saturday of the month and offers the (extremely remote) possibility of winning a million pounds (you would have to bingo in a stupendously unlikely 24 calls to win it). Cards to Super Millionaire cost £1 and the baseline prize is £1000 (for 35 calls or more). If you would prefer something cheaper there is Penny Bonanza on the third Wednesday of the month with cards at just 1p and prizes for 1TG and 2TG; the guaranteed coverall prize is £300 with £5000 up for grabs should bingo be called sufficiently quickly (29 calls) . A third sliding jackpot game with 30p cards plays every Saturday (again, with 29 calls the magic number to snag the £10,000 headline prize).
Currently the network has three daily sliding jackpot games.
The Daily Grand usually runs every night at 10pm with cards priced at a hefty £2; while this sounds expensive compared to the other sliding jackpot games, the £1000 is paid out if someone wins in 47 calls or fewer and although this is still pretty unlikely it is several orders of magnitude less unlikely than someone winning one of the other headline prizes. At 48 calls the jackpot slides to £800 and continues to slide until it reaches the guaranteed £100 at 62 (or more) calls. There’s also £50 to be shared by 1TG and another £50 to be shared by 2TG players. At Christmas and Easter the Daily Grand is replaced with a seasonal special game offering the opportunity to win up to £2500, and until 5th May the Easter Bunny Money game is running. Although it sounds like a better deal as the ticket price remains £2, the jackpot starts to slide at just 35 calls so it is very unlikely that anyone would win the full £2500. The baseline prize of £300 is for 57 calls or more and the 1TG/2TG pots are increased to £100.
The Power Penny runs every evening at 11pm. As you’d expect, cards for this 75 ball game cost 1p each (and at that price, there are probably tens of thousands of cards in play each time). The headline prize is £250 but for anyone to win this they would have to get a coverall in 35 calls; 57 calls or more and the winner gets the guaranteed £25 only.
The £777 Lucky Jackpot runs every evening at 20.30. This has a rather expensive ticket price of £1 (but plenty of free tickets are being given away as part of welcome bonus offers and in chat games) and unusually for a sliding jackpot it is a 90 ball game. 1L can win up to £77, 2L up to £200 and FH up to £500 but as yet, there are no details on site as to when the jackpot slides. The guaranteed prize fund is £77 and there’s an additional £10 to be split by 1TG tickets, and £15 to be split by 2TG tickets.
Cheap and Cheerful is a BOGOF type network promotion which applies to the six 3p games every day with a fixed £50 jackpot. In order to get free tickets, however, players have to buy 12 strips, which is 72 tickets; they then receive another 4 strips free to make the total up to the maximum 96 tickets at a total cost of £2.16.
Most Netboost sites now have the new network VIP scheme, Diamond Club (not to be confused with the Ignite Diamond Club). This invitation only scheme has four levels (Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald and Diamond) with a fast track to membership for players who have VIP membership elsewhere.
Recently Netboost have been running some extra promotions which are notified via a pop-up rather than via the promotions page; the new promotions are only a few days in duration and mostly consist of prize draws, some combined with a leaderboard and some based on spend. This week (April 24th – 30th) the Netboost sites are running a NetEnt network slots prize draw promotion on the Fairytale Legends Hansel and Gretel slot. The top prize is a VIP week in Los Angeles for 2 people and there are 499 runner up cash prizes worth £20,000 in all. Players get one draw entry for each £10 of cash play on the slot and can earn up to 50 entries per day.
The network also runs both of the 888 big link bingo rooms under the name Linked and Loaded, and has recently reorganised its free bingo rooms; there are now 4 of these and all have the same entry mechanic – 2 days of access subsequent to making a deposit. A £10 deposit unlocks the entry level room and to get access to the Supreme room with its £500 of free bingo requires a £50 deposit.
The main Dragonfish network includes both independently owned sites such as Circus Bingo and its sister sites Pixie Bingo and Oink Bingo, and house owned sites such as Celeb Bingo, Spy Bingo and Easter Bingo. The advantage of choosing a house owned site – apart from the reassurance of dealing with such a huge and well known operator – is that they are very unlikely to opt out of any of the network promotions. Independently owned sites do opt out from time to time; several, for instance, did not run the massively networked £200K jackpot games last year and many of them do not offer the million pound sliding jackpot games. Another difference is in the range of slots on offer. On the other hand, some of the independently owned sites have exclusive bingo rooms and promotions which can’t be found elsewhere on the network – for example, the aforementioned Circus Bingo has the Pablo’s Nuts bonus game, a £1000 free monthly game for depositors, and a weekly sliding jackpot with the (albeit very tiny) chance of winning a holiday in Las Vegas.
Perhaps the most radically different independently owned site is the recently launched Blighty Bingo, which has the USP of not having any wagering requirements; the flipside of that is that they do not give out any bingo bonuses in the normal sense of the word. The welcome offer consists of some free spins and £70 worth of bingo tickets (credited the next day) split between the two network Sure Win games (£20 each) and the Big £10K (£30). Normally we would regard free bingo tickets to a specific game as a very poor substitute for a bingo bonus, but because all three of these games include a community jackpot for losing tickets, these tickets are guaranteed to return at least something. The site also gives out one or more free spins on login every day (depending on loyalty level).
To take full advantage of all the bingo rooms on the Dragonfish network players need to be frequent depositors as several of the rooms (including all of the free rooms) have an entry condition whereby a deposit must have been made in the last 7 days. Depositing regularly is beneficial for the loyalty scheme as well, as loyalty level is reset every month and depends on how much was deposited during the previous month. The benefits include a modest bonus back on losses, free slots spins and free tickets to the monthly Big £10K community jackpot game (which takes place on the 10th of the month); a single deposit of the minimum the site allows during the month is enough to qualify for the lowest level of these benefits but to get the maximum you’ll need to deposit £200 or more. The Big £10K itself typically has over 15,000 players and although £10K sounds a lot, the line and full house prizes are only £250, £500 and £750 as a result of most of the prize money being split between 1TG (£2000), 2TG (£1500) and all remaining tickets (£5000). If you don’t qualify for free tickets for the Big £10K they can be bought for £10 each but it is hard to see why anyone would want to do this when they could deposit the £10, get 2 free tickets and then be able to play the £10 (plus any associated bonus) elsewhere on site!
The Dragonfish network sites also continue to run the 888 big link bingo rooms, under the names 90s Extreme and Big Fat 10.
Dragonfish sites do not normally have any penny bingo apart from Late Night Show once a day. This 90 ball room is for night owls only as the game runs at quarter to one in the morning UK time. Prebuy is not available until 15 minutes before the game starts and is restricted to 75 players all of whom must buy 96 tickets (at 1p each). The game has cash prizes of £50 for FH, £30 for 2L and £20 for 1L.
Until April 30th, the Dragonfish network is participating in the NetEnt Fairytale Legends £20K prize draw.
There are several smaller groups of sites within the network, running promotions between their own sites only, but the downside of this is that as previously mentioned they may be missing some of the network rooms and promotions.
8 Ball Games run a sizeable portfolio of Dragonfish powered bingo sites including Bingo Irish, We Want Bingo, Glitter Bingo and the more recent launches Pet Shop Bingo and Brown Cow Bingo They have a number of non network rooms and promotions and which ones are available varies from site to site. There’s also an exclusive VIP loyalty scheme which adds various enhancements to the network scheme (including reload bonuses and reduced wagering requirements). The non network rooms are typically open for an hour at the same time each week, some requiring a recent deposit and some open to all. One important difference between 8 Ball sites and other Dragonfish network sites is that many of the 8 Ball sites have a no deposit offer; at some sites this is a set amount and at others it is a mystery bonus that is guaranteed to be at least £5 but could be much more.
Chit Chat Bingo, Bid Bingo and BingoZino are another group of Dragonfish network sites that run joint promotions including prize draws. This week (24th – 27th) there is a £300 slots knock out event, Cleopatra vs White Wizard. The top three players of each slot win games bonus prizes – £100/£50/£25 for the slots that proves most popular and £70/£35/£20 for the other. We have also been working with Chit Chat to bring you a special exclusive enhanced welcome offer and this is now available, with a games bonus to add to the bingo bonus and a reduced wagering requirement of 2 x on the bingo bonus itself – to claim, click on the link in the Chit Chat review.
The Silverspin group of sites (which includes Candy Shop Bingo, Lucky Charm Bingo, Bubble Bonus Bingo, and a few others) has two shared 90 ball bingo rooms, Pennies Make Pounds (3 hours in the afternoons) and Big Night In (4 hours in the evenings). Many of the sites also have the Wacky Wings room (originally a Butterfly Bingo exclusive) which runs a different promotion every evening. Occasionally they have shared promotions such as slots tournaments and special bingo games, but they are missing quite a lot of the Dragonfish network promotions and bingo rooms (for instance, they do not have the million pound sliding jackpot games, the Weekender room, Bounce’T or the Sunny 90s network 90 ball room). They have the standard network loyalty scheme and network wagering requirements (but very annoyingly they lack the screen showing wagering progress). Each of these sites also has a bonus game or regular prize draw promotion but the prizes aren’t anything special. Iceland Bingo used to be part of this group and run the same promotions but after the sale of the rest of the sites to Silverspin and Iceland to a different (though connected) buyer Black Spark, it has separate promotions that are MUCH better than the promotions at the Silverspin bingo sites – including a £10 Iceland Foods voucher as part of the welcome offer. It still has the shared bingo rooms, Pennies Make Pounds and Big Night In, but also has the exclusive Freezer room, a monthly prize draw room and a special bingo game every evening (Monday – Friday) where the prizes are free slots spins on Fluffy Too (100 for FH, 30 for 2L and 20 for 1L). Cards are 20p and players can collect one free card for each £20 of play on any of the Fluffy slots. Winnings from the free spins are paid as slots bonus. Iceland now has a sister site, Safari Bingo, which runs some of the same promotions.
The Joy of Bingo network includes 888Ladies, Wink Bingo, Red Bus Bingo, and Posh Bingo (as well as a few others). They share a VIP scheme and some games, mostly the free bingo, which includes some that is open to all players regardless of whether they have made a recent deposit. The best of the free games is on Sunday evenings and only available on mobile and tablet; it used to be networked across all the sites as a 75 ball game with a £250 prize but it seems that 888 Ladies now has its own 90 ball version (with a £200 prize fund). These sites all also have the 888 big link 90 ball room under the name Stack Up and the big link 75 ball room under the name Unwind (at some of the sites these are only available on mobile).
888 Ladies and Wink have a jackpot game called Payday £3000 which is played on the final Friday of each month; it is a 90 ball game with 10p tickets and prizes down to 2TG. Payday £1500 is a similar game with smaller prizes and 5p tickets, which plays at the other sites on the network.
The sites had a number of jackpot games for Easter but these have now finished.
To claim a redeposit bonus at Joy of Bingo sites a code has to be entered and these are usually sent out via email each weekend. Until further notice players at Wink get a spin on the Wink Wheel every time they deposit using code SPIN; this awards free spins or bonus (but cannot be combined with any other offer). On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays there is an enhanced version of the wheel so it may be preferable to deposit then. At 888 Ladies something similar is being tried – deposit with code UNLIMITED to get a free spin on the Lady Luck slot machine (which comes in regular and VIP versions). The machine awards a bonus up up to 88% (99% for VIPs), up to £10 cash or free spins.
Bingo Hollywood is Dragonfish powered and on a network of its own with the newly launched Big Tease Bingo. They usually run at least one exclusive bingo promotion every month, and this month it is called April Showers. The aim is to collect rain drops and this can be done by winning bingo in the Red Carpet Room at 45 past the hour on the Brolly pattern (2 points) or winning FH in the fixed jackpot games in the Superstar Room (3 points). There’s also one point for qualifying in the Paparazzi Points or Gold Rush promotions as described below. The top three on the leaderboard win prizes – Love2Shop vouchers for the top 2 and free bingo tickets for third. The regular monthly Paparazzi Points promotion awards points for bingo on the pattern of the month (for April this is the same Brolly pattern as in the April Showers promotion but at half past the hour not quarter to). 1st on the leaderboard at the end of the month wins £100 bingo bonus, 2nd wins £75 bingo bonus and 3rd wins £50 bingo bonus. Blockbuster Bingo is Bingo Hollywood’s big monthly game. It is a 75 ball sliding jackpot game with a card price of 50p and a headline prize of £10K which will be won if the coverall is completed in an extremely unlikely 32 or fewer calls. The baseline prize of £2000 is for 51 or more calls. March’s chat tourney is called Royal Knees Up and follows the usual rules, running on weekend evenings from 7pm -11pm in a different featured room each weekend evening (alternating between 75 and 90 ball); every team wins loyalty points with the lion’s share (1 million points) going to the top team, but to win the full prize you have to play 100 games or more over the weekend. Play 50-99 and you get half the prize, play 25 – 49 and you just get 1000 loyalty points, play fewer than 25 and you don’t qualify for anything. Slots tourneys also run each month and in April the game to play is the Wonky Wabbits slot, with 1 leaderboard point awarded for each £10 played. There are real cash prizes of £50 – £250 for 1st – 10th and casino bonus prizes of £50 – £250 for 11th – 20th, and all 20 winners also get 50 free spins on Wonky Wabbits. Another slots tourney runs from 17th – 23rd only, on the Fairytale Legends Red Riding Hood slot, with casino bonus prizes for the biggest spender, the biggest winner and the biggest loser.
The 888 big link 90 ball games have an extra feature at Bingo Hollywood called Gold Rush. Players who win FH, also win 1000 loyalty points for each gold ball (73 – 90) that is called before 1L is completed in the next game. At the end of the evening the player who wins the most loyalty points in this way wins an extra £20 bingo bonus.
The Fluffy Cuffs room is a new bingo room for the launch of Big Tease. Chat games play from 10pm – midnight and at the end of the month the player who has won in these most often will win an Ann Summers voucher.
One thing to note at Bingo Hollywood is that in order to qualify for any of their promotions players need to have made a deposit during the last 30 days.
Cashcade sites such as Foxy Bingo also use the Dragonfish software on a standalone network but very disappointingly these days Foxy’s promotions seem to be mostly about getting players to spend money on the slots. In March, the cheeky fox had a sex change (!) and was revealed as Hollywood actress Heather Graham, but we can’t help thinking that the £10 million reportedly being spent on the relaunch would have been much better used on improving the promotions to attract players back to this once great site.
15 Network is the original Jumpman powered bingo network and usually has one main network promotion. For the last few months this has been a weekly prize draw and April’s promotion April Eggstra also follows this format . There is a Cadbury’s hamper and 50 x £10 slots bonus to be won each week and players get one entry for each £10 played on Easter Island, Easter Cash Baskets or Eggomatic.
Tuesday Treasure is a free bingo game that plays across the network on the second Tuesday of every month. All funded players can claim up to 96 free tickets and the prize split is FH £400, 2L £200, 1L £160 and £80 each for 1TG, 2TG and 3TG. The room is now open for 9th May and already there are getting on for 500 players; in previous months there have been up to 200,000 tickets in play, so each ticket only has a very small chance of winning – but it’s free, so well worth claiming max tickets.
Film Bingo usually runs an exclusive leaderboard style event every month, and for April it is called Slay the Dragon. The prize is a tea and biscuits hamper or £50 cash. Score points for a deposit of £20 (10 points), a full house win on number 23 (10 points), a win on the sword pattern (5 points) or £20 of cash play on Fluffy Too (10 points).
Bingo Minions usually have a prize draw and for April the prize is a Cadbury Easter hamper. Get one draw entry for each £10 deposited until 10th April.
Rocket Bingo offer free bingo games without the requirement to have made a deposit in the preceding 7 days. There are a number of games with £1 prizes every day, a £10 game two evenings a week plus an hour of £10 free bingo games on Friday evenings. If you haven’t tried Rocket Bingo yet, now is a good time, as there is a temporary extra on the welcome offer of a £5 Amazon voucher.
Lollipop Bingo has a prize draw for April with 1 entry awarded for each £10 deposited until 10th April; the prize is a Lindt Easter Collection box.
The Wheel of Slots network also runs on the Jumpman platform. As its name suggests this is aimed at those who like to play slots as well as bingo – there are NO bingo bonuses on offer at Wheel of Slots, just free spins on the likes of Fluffy Favourites, the best welcome offer being a guaranteed 50 free spins on Fluffy Favourites at Viking Bingo. Most of the Wheel of Slots sites run a regular Slot of the Week promotion; this consists of a prize draw with one entry given out per £20 played on the specified slot which is notified by email. The prize is a spin of the Winners Wheel (not the same as the regular wheel) which gives out 20 – 500 spins on Fluffy Favourites, Temple of Isis or Shaman’s Dream. The Wheel of Slots sites have a weekly Easter Egg-stravaganza promotion and like the 15 Network promotion, it is a prize draw. Each week there is a Cadbury’s hamper and 10 x 50 free spins to be won and players collect entries via play on the Easter Island slot only.
A couple of sites on this network now have exclusive promotions. At Free Spirit Bingo there is a monthly prize draw with a Chocolate Bouquet to be won in April; until April 10th players get one entry for every £10 played on bingo or slots. Volcano Bingo have an exclusive free bingo game for funded players at 8pm on Mondays; the prize fund is £20 with prizes down to 1TG but the real draw of this 90 ball game is that the 1L, 2L and FH winners all also win a free spin of the Wheel of Slots.
The Live Bingo Network sites pretty well all have the same promotions. They include jackpot games with free tickets for depositors, a weekly/monthly slots tournament with casino bonus prizes for the top spenders and so on. Cozy also has the Best Bingo Network but apart from a slightly different welcome offer all the promotions and bingo rooms are an exact copy of those on the Live Bingo Network. Indeed, player numbers and prize amounts visible at sites on the two networks suggests that they now also have shared liquidity – which would mean they they are in effect one and the same network.
Recently, most of the Cozy sites have been running a series of month-long promotional themes; for March they had Spring Into Action and this has been extended to run until the end of April. It looks very pretty on the promo page but is really just a rehash of previously run promotions and in one case, that of the slots tourney, the prizes have been reduced.
Cozy bingo sites on these two networks do have free bingo 24/7 but it is 50 ball only and in order to be allocated 10 free tickets you have to be in the bingo room just before the game plays. If you are playing with a no deposit bonus you won’t be allowed to claim any tickets as it is only for funded players. Line and FH prizes are £2 (bonus, with the usual wagering requirement and 30 day expiry) and extra tickets can be bought for 1p each.
One advantage of Cozy sites is that almost all of them offer a no deposit bonus, but do be aware that it is NOT possible to win real money with this (not directly anyway). In order to get at these winnings you have to make a deposit and accept a bonus on it complete with wagering requirement – only then can you carry the winnings forward, as “casino cash” (not actually cash at all, but a casino bonus with the usual wagering requirement) up to £50 (£20 at some sites) or the value of the first deposit, whichever is smaller. As if that wasn’t enough, Cozy have now put restrictions on their deposit bonuses as well, capping the winnings at 10 x bonus or £500. With all these new rules – and the already existing provision that all bonuses are lost when any withdrawal is made regardless of whether the wagering requirements have been met – the huge bonuses that are Cozy’s USP are looking less and less attractive these days.
Alternatively there is Game Village which runs on Cozy software but is on its own Lucky Duck Network, so all the offers and jackpot games are exclusive to them and to a couple of other sites including Becky’s Bingo. They have a bewildering array of promotions, most of which change monthly, but to participate in the majority of them you need to have homeowner status which requires you to make three initial deposits and then deposit at least once every 30 days. Another potential pitfall is that for many of their promotions – for example, this month’s £5 free tickets for winning in three consecutive games between noon and midnight in the 90 ball room – the prize will not be awarded automatically and you must contact them to claim it (assuming you even notice that you qualify). The Charity Event is back for April, with all ticket monies going to Unicef East Africa, but as usual it is just one 50 minute stint of penny bingo in mid afternoon so unlikely to amount to much; there is no information on site about charity donations in previous months.
Cozy sites launched in the last few months include Swanky Bingo (which, unlike most Cozy bingo sites, has Microgaming slots), Sailor Bingo and Lucky Diner Bingo, which has something special to offer – a weekly exclusive bingo room with live chat host that they are broadcasting on a video stream! They also have a 24 hour jukebox including live radio shows. The live rooms are open to everyone who has deposited £10 or more in the preceding 7 days. Recent launch Igloo Bingo also has extras including a free bingo game every evening with a £10 prize fund.
Had enough of Virtue Fusion, Dragonfish, Jumpman and Cozy? There are a number of other options out there, and some of them run some great promotions.
There are only a handful of Gamesys sites left now following the departure of Sun Bingo and Fabulous Bingo to Virtue Fusion last summer. They have Super Links network games with £20K guaranteed prizes every day and are very good sites to play at if you enjoy prize draw promotions but are no more than a modest spender, because Gamesys rules on prize draws almost always allow only one entry per player per day. The Gamesys platform, however, is very much geared towards desktop play with only a restricted selection of mobile bingo rooms available.
Heart Bingo have introduced some extra guaranteed prizes into their bingo schedule and also have Sugar Rush; this regular promotion (which started back in October) awards a percentage boost to every prize in the Candy Club room between 11am and noon; the percentage boost is different every day (and announced each day on the promo page) but always between 10% and 100%. Session bingo is new to mobile and from 24th – 27th April there is a daily prize draw with 5 x £100 and 50 x £50 to be won; to enter, just buy a ticket for any of the four daily sessions from smartphone or tablet. Monthly Must Haves is a set of 4 prize draws, each offering the opportunity to win a subscription to a different monthly goodie bag – make-up, pet items, socks or luxury chocolate. To enter, select the draw you want to enter then play £30 on site during the promo period of 21st – 27th April.
At Virgin Games the focus is definitely on slots rather than bingo, with most of the promotions being to do with slots or poker. The V10 promotion has been running every month for a few months now with a top prize is a luxury trip to Las Vegas for 4 including £6000 spending money but alas, it appears to be taking a break in April. Bingo Specials run every week for the rest of April. From 24th – 30th there are 8 x £50 free bingo games in the Enterprise Room every evening from 8pm. In the Prize Tag promotion, players have to guess the total value of the rather splendid prize bundle; the closest guess wins the lot (with the winner chosen by prizedraw if there are multiple correct guesses) and 10 runners up get £25 cash each; to qualify players have to complete £10 of cash play during the promo period which is 24th April – 1st May.
Jackpot Joy also have a range of exclusive promotions including a monthly £13,000 bingo game and frequent sharepots.
Microgaming bingo sites have very little in the way of interesting promotions these days. One unique thing about the Microgaming platform is that it is the home of Immortal Romance Bingo, a bingo variant themed on the hugely popular slot – but apart from that, there is not much that is special about the network itself. The main advantage of choosing a Microgaming bingo site to play at is that they get all the new Microgaming slots as soon as they are released (although other bingo sites do have Microgaming slots these tend to be a smaller selection of older titles).
Dream Bingo used to run lots of exclusive promotions and had several non network bingo rooms, but now only has the network rooms and the occasional promotion (usually slots leaderboards). Dream also currently have a no deposit free spins offer but as the winnings are paid as casino bonus this only allows players to try out slots, not bingo.
Butlers Bingo and its sister sites which include the Irish charity bingo site Rehab Bingo have two exclusive bingo rooms. The Broadway Room is a standalone 90 ball room open in the afternoons and evenings offering a variety of jackpots and in the Spinner Room (open in the evenings), you can win free spins on specified slots; these rooms are clearly popular with players and led to Butlers winning awards for best Microgaming bingo site and for the best innovation in online bingo. Free spins are frequently part of the sign-up offer and are also given out to selected players . Over the last few months some extra jackpots have been added in the Broadway room, but these are mostly multi-level room jackpots rather than guaranteed prizes for specific games. The Broadway sites are also quite active on social media and put promotions such as prize draws out that way.
Two UK bingo sites currently run on this software. The USP of Bingocams is the integration of webcams into the software allowing players to see each other and the chat host – although it is perfectly possible to play without a cam and many do. Live Win Moments are cam footage of someone winning FH and there are occasionally prizes in connection with these. Bright Bingo is the same platform but with the cams given little prominence, but we understand that it is due to migrate to a different platform in the next few months, so if you do want to give B-live a try, Bingocams is the place.
At Bingocams the Big Bang progressive jackpot was finally won last September, after taking over a year to climb to around the £22,000 mark, and was then won again only a week later at little more than its seed value of £5000! It is now about to edge past £10,000. Win by getting a 90 ball full house in 32 or fewer balls, or a 75 ball coverall in 42 or fewer balls in any of their rooms, any time; anyone who has made a deposit in the last 3 months is eligible. There are also a number of room jackpots; these are much smaller and easier to win, dropping at 40 balls in 90 ball and 48 balls in 75 ball.
Bingocams have just started a huge promotion which runs for the next couple of months. The centerpiece event is a prize draw (to take place on July 3rd) with a very special prize – a £10,000 luxury holiday of the winner’s choice. Players get one draw entry for each £10 deposit, from now until midnight on July 2nd. The promotion has several other elements. There’s a second prize draw (also on July 3rd) with 10 prizes of £100 cash; players get one entry to that each time they participate in a Bingocams weekly casino newsletter offer (typically 10 free spins awarded for depositing and playing £10 on one of the featured slots). A £500 holiday voucher is the prize in the Weekly Holiday Freebie game which runs at 7.45pm Mondays starting 1st May; entry to this room is restricted to FH winners of the Luxury Holiday themed games during the previous week. Throughout the promo period, further prizes will be on offer via chat games and social media – and we can expect to see some of the cam footage on Facebook Live. The prize draw winners will be announced in the Luxury Holiday Final room; this £1000 free room is open for 15 rounds from 10pm on July 3rd and is open to all players who have deposited and played at least £10 at some point during the event.
Daub Alderney have four bingo sites which combine shared rooms and promotions with exclusive ones.
Kitty Bingo was the first site in the group to launch.
Lucky Pants Bingo generally runs promotions that are more geared towards slots – such as the Spin O Clock regular Tuesday promotion which gives out free spins in lieu of a deposit bonus. It is also possible to choose a slots bonus offer as a welcome offer (on your first three deposits) if that’s what you prefer. Lucky Pants now has NetEnt slots and the welcome offer has been tweaked so that the free spins are on these – Spinata Grande for the 20 free spins on registration and Spinata Grande, Koi Princess, Gonzo’s Quest or Starburst for the 100 free spins that are given out over the 5 days susbsequent to making a first deposit.
Bingo Extra‘s USP is the exclusive Extra Room where several different varieties of bingo are played and extra features and prizes are the order of the day.
Give Back Bingo is a recently launched charity bingo site. They aim to donate all bingo profits to the charity of the month and document it on a Just Giving page. When this type of arrangement has been done at other charity bingo sites it has never worked well and it has rarely been clear how much has been donated to which charity – or indeed whether anything has – but apart from some administrative issues with the Just Giving page for the donation from their opening month of December (£599.60 for Shelter according to their blog) they seem to be doing OK so far. For January, a donation of £634.48 to Alzheimer’s Society was properly documented. £514.77 was raised for Cancer Research in February and £551.57 for Mind in March. April’s charity is Marie Curie.
The regular Win-Win game runs on Wednesday evenings at 10pm. Cards for this 90 ball game cost 20p (cash only) and there is a £200 guaranteed prize fund. If you don’t win, you receive your stake money back as bingo bonus. Weekly Shop plays every Tuesday night at 10pm and the prize in this 75 ball game, which has a card price of 5p, is a very useful £100 shopping vouchers. Fiver Frenzy (known as the Playground at Bingo Extra) is a 1p bingo game that plays twice a day at 1pm and 10pm; it is a 5 line game with £5 fixed prize per line.
On the last Friday of every month, the £10K Slider plays. This is a 5 line game with a card price of 20p and should the winner bingo in 45 or fewer calls they will take home the whole £10,000 jackpot (this is a considerably higher number of calls than the vast majority of sliding jackpot games at other sites – while it is still pretty unlikely that someone will actually win, it is a lot less unlikely than in similar games elsewhere). It starts to slide after that and when the ball count reaches 53 it reverts right back down to the guaranteed £400. Line prizes are £150 each and there is a card maximum of 72.
The three non charity sites usually run a promotion each week (generally differing from each other in name only) where depositing or playing Monday to Thursday generates a reward on the Friday. This week’s promotion (24th – 27th April) is the one where players collect extra cashback on losses, based on levels of play, and this is certainly not one of the better Daub promotions; for a start, it isn;t actually cashback at all, but a bonus with a 10x wagering requirement. At Kitty and Lucky Pants, a deposit of £20 is required to qualify and the lowest level award of 3% cashback up to £20 is for £20 – £499.99 of cash play. To get the top award of 15% cashback up to £200 a massive £10K of cash play is needed. At Bingo Extra (where there is no regular cashback promotion) a deposit of £20 is still needed but only £5 of play is needed to receive 5% cashback up to £20. The next tier starts at £50 of cash play and the top tier, which awards 25% cashback up to £200, is at £2000+ of cash play.
Give Back has a weekly slots sharepot promotion, running Saturday – Wednesday during April on selected Net Ent slots. Players score 1 point for each £10 of cash play and qualify for one of the sharepots based on how many points they score, but the lowest level sharepot for 1-19 points is only 100 free spins and to qualify for the top level sharepot of 500 free spins requires 100 or more points (so £1000 of play). Again, the free spins are win capped (£10 per batch) and the winnings have a 25 x wagering requirement.
Maria used to be a Virtue Fusion bingo site but back in July 2015 they migrated to the brand new bingo platform from Relax Gaming and the whole site was given a radical makeover. Maria is basically a casino with bingo (quite a lot of bingo – there are 4 open access bingo rooms plus one daily rewards room which is more than you’ll find at many plain old bingo sites) and where it really excels is the slots. They have one of the best selections available at any bingo site and it can all be played with the same wallet; new slots are added very often and there are frequent cashback or free spins offer. The welcome offers are also geared towards slots and include free spins; although the welcome bonus can be used on bingo the wagering requirements are more in line with what one would expect from a slots bonus. When Maria say cashback, they mean CASH (zero wagering requirements) and what they give you a percentage of CASH WAGERS rather than a percentage of losses. Slots tournaments at Maria also run frequently (at least every single day from 5pm – 8pm) and unlike the vast majority of slots tournaments you will find at other bingo sites, the winner is normally the player with the biggest net win in 20 consecutive spins rather than the biggest spender.
Maria is networked with Bingo.com, which has very much the same selection of slots as well as the same bingo rooms but gives the bingo a lot more prominence and often runs bingo promotions (such as bingo tournaments) that aren’t on at Maria. Bingo.com won the Fair Play Award at last year’s bingo industry awards and this was judged by a panel of independent experts so you can be sure of very high standards of social responsibility and fair play there. The owner of all these sites is the Kindred Group (aka Unibet) and they recently scored an industry first by being the first and so far the only iGaming operator to be certified for compliance with all six of the core principles of the 2014 EU Recommendation on Consumer Protection and Responsible Gambling.
The Relax bingo sites have Roll On Bingo (previously only found on the Virtue Fusion platform) and they also have a selection of regular bingo promotions including 14 days of free bingo for newbies, jackpot games and tournaments. A separate bingo bonusing system (with a 4x wagering requirement) comes into play quickly – the bingo vouchers are given out as rewards on spins of the loyalty wheel and unlike bingo bonuses at many other sites, bingo vouchers are used before and not after any cash the player may have in their account.
Easter Cash Drops take place from 11am – 11pm CEST (noon – midnight UK time) from 3rd – 30th April. The room in which the drops will take place will be publicised each day and the drops will go to randomly selected players who have played in three consecutive bingo games including the one when the drop takes place. 3300 drops will be made in all – including one per day of £500 – and the total amount given out will be £43,000 in cash.
The Relax sites are also participating in the NetEnt network Fairytale Legends prize draw.
The Parlay platform was popular several years ago and then almost disappeared as far as UK bingo sites were concerned. The Parlay software now has a UK licence but still only powers a few sites. As far as promotions go the only one that is really of interest is The Palaces. They run regular prize draws and deposit bonus offers
The Bede Gaming bingo software powers Bingo Stars, Bingo Godz and the charity site Health Bingo. The main promotions of note here are the 50% reload bonus promotions available on both bingo and casino, but they also run network slots/casino promotions from time to time.
The Bede Gaming sites have also recently rearranged their bingo timetable. Out went the penny bingo room and in came a Friday night £5K jackpot game. Another innovation is an hour of 90 ball bingo with a maximum of just 4 tickets per player. Also new to the Bede network is Bingo Studio Live; this runs from 6pm until midnight every evening and has arrived as part of parcel of the migration to the Bede platform of three sites that were previously powered by Virtue Fusion – Crown Bingo, Bingo Loopy and BingoS.
As far as promotions go, Tombola are best known for running daily free games. The big news at the moment is that Go Fish, their long running daily SMS game, has been retired and replaced with a new game, Stars, which started in March. The new game has £30,000 in prizes to be won each week. To participate, players need to register a mobile number to be sent an access code each week. The code can then be used to access a ticket for the week’s play and this can be done on both Tombola and Tombola Arcade giving the player two chances to win. Each day, six numbers are called from the universe of 50 and players have to check their ticket and collect any stars with matching numbers. The aim is to complete the ticket by collecting 25 stars over the course of the week and each week, the £30,000 prize fund is shared equally between all the completed tickets (in the unlikely event that no-one wins, it rolls over to the following week increasing that week’s prize fund to £60,000).
Slingo is a hybrid between bingo and slots and was a play-for-fun game until Gaming Realms bought the rights back in 2015. There are several real money Slingo games but only one of them – Slingo Boom – is a multiplayer game that offers the same type of experience as bingo. Slingo Boom is exclusive to Slingo.com and is essentially a fun version of 75 ball bingo with lots of extra bells and whistles and only one card per player (giving everyone an equal chance of winning). To learn more about Slingo Boom and about all the single player versions of Slingo, read What Is Slingo?
Slingo Boom came out last May but this great game has not made much of an impact to date. This is rapidly changing as not only is there a a new TV advertising campaign for the brand, but they have reportedly secured a deal to sponsor the Jeremy Kyle Show. The number of Slingo Boom rooms at Slingo.com has now been increased from two to four; as well as the 25p and £1 rooms there is a daily jackpot room and a free room which is open from 9am – 10pm.
Also recently introduced at Slingo.com is the real money skill game Magic Mine. This is a match 3 game in the same vein as the ever popular Candy Crush and players are given 7 moves to collect as many diamond gems as possible (30 are required to break even). When played with the standard strategy the game has an extremely unappealing RTP of just 56.79% but they say this can be improved with skilful play. Magic Mine offers a range of stake levels from 50p – £10 and apart from the progressive jackpot the maximum win is 100 x stake.
